AWS Service Catalog Launches Support for CloudFormation Change Sets
AWS Service Catalog, used by enterprises, system integrators, and managed service providers to organize, govern, and provision cloud resources on AWS, now supports CloudFormation Change Sets. This also includes CloudFormation Transforms, which provides capability for the Serverless Application Model (SAM).
Change Sets allow you to launch and update application stacks with confidence by providing a preview of the changes that will be made to AWS resources before they are executed, and give visibility into whether proposed changes will add, delete, or replace any resources. AWS CloudFormation makes the changes to a stack only when you decide to execute the Change Set, allowing you to decide whether to proceed with the proposed changes immediately, at a later date, or to explore different changes by creating another change set. AWS Service Catalog supports CloudFormation Change Sets natively via API and console.
