Opportunity

Connect Diverse Smart-Hardware Endpoints via a Unified Cloud-Based Hub

Generative AI is transforming how humans interact with software and hardware. A growing number of tasks can be initiated and executed directly through natural-language commands. For Anker Innovations, a long-standing player in smart-hardware development, this means headphones, audio-recording devices and other user-facing terminals can evolve into new AI interaction endpoints.

Anker Innovations' business covers charging & energy storage, smart audio, smart home, creative tools and other sectors. As individual business units continue their AI initiatives, drawbacks from siloed development have become apparent. If each business line builds a full-stack AI application pipeline independently, capabilities such as fast-slow brain models, RAG knowledge bases, Agent runtime, context and memory management, business-system integration and security isolation will have to be rebuilt repeatedly. This not only fragments R&D resources, but also hinders the sharing and reuse of technical expertise and platform capabilities across business divisions. Separate development workflows may also lead to inconsistent interaction patterns across brands and products, undermining the uniformity and continuity of the user experience.

To address these challenges, Anker Innovations has embarked on building "ANKA", an enterprise-grade Agent system that serves as the unified voice-interaction gateway of its "One Brand" strategy. The unified AI Agent platform standardises and centralises shared AI capabilities scattered across different brands and business lines, enabling a build-once, deploy-across-businesses development paradigm.

Acting as a unified Agent development gateway for all business units, ANKA consolidates foundational capabilities including runtime execution, memory management, knowledge retrieval, tool integration and platform governance, while leaving ample room for product- and scenario-specific innovation. Business teams can directly reuse ANKA's shared capabilities to cut costs on building and maintaining in-house AI back-ends. Meanwhile, standardised Sub-Agent SDKs and a low-code canvas empower teams to rapidly roll out new use-cases such as a sleep assistant and charging manager, shortening the cycle from requirement definition to development and validation. Centralised system capabilities also facilitate consistent intent recognition, multi-turn dialogue and memory mechanisms across brands and products, laying the groundwork for seamless cross-category, cross-device continuous interaction.

To deliver on this goal, ANKA must overcome three key challenges:

  • Support large-scale stable operations: ANKA needs to be compatible with diverse Agent development frameworks and scale flexibly as user volume and concurrency rise, delivering a stable runtime environment for consumer-facing business scenarios.
  • Guarantee operational security and interaction continuity: Effective isolation must be enforced between ANKA's runtime environment, user sessions and data, alongside robust management of context and long-term memory required for multi-turn interactions.
  • Enable seamless connectivity and ongoing operations: ANKA needs to interface with existing business systems in a unified manner, while continuously monitoring and optimising Agent execution workflows and runtime status after launch.

Faced with this broad set of requirements, Anker Innovations turned to AWS. On one hand, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore delivers modular capabilities spanning Agent runtime, memory management, tool integration, security isolation and observability, which closely match ANKA's technical requirements and eliminate redundant development of foundational features. On the other hand, the AWS team maintains a customer-first mindset, engaging in the project from the product-definition and architecture-planning phases and providing support for critical technical validation throughout development. Balancing product capabilities and professional support, Anker Innovations partnered with AWS to advance ANKA's product design and business capability encapsulation, laying a foundation for future innovations in smart-hardware user experiences.

"The core challenge ANKA aims to resolve is how to centrally consolidate fundamental Agent capabilities while preserving innovation flexibility for individual business lines. Built on a modular architecture, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore supports multiple Agent development frameworks. It allows ANKA to reuse runtime, memory, tool-connection and other capabilities on demand, without forcing all business units onto a single development pathway. This capability — a unified underlying layer with flexible upper-layer implementations — represents AWS's most distinctive value in supporting the ANKA initiative."

Solution

Multi-Module Synergy of AgentCore Enables Runtime, Memory, Connectivity and Observability

From Siloed Deployment to Unified Execution

Anker Innovations is building ANKA's Agent runtime capabilities on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime. Compatible with various Agent development frameworks, this service delivers a unified execution environment for Agents built by different business units and scales flexibly in response to business requests. Its runtime-environment and session-level isolation capabilities allow Agent tasks from separate users to run in mutually independent environments, reducing the in-house development workload for Anker Innovations to build runtime environments, sandboxes and session-isolation mechanisms.

From One-Shot Responses to Continuous Interactions

For multi-turn-conversation scenarios, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Memory equips ANKA with context and long-term-memory management, enabling Agents to reference past interactions and maintain service continuity. Powered by a centralised memory service, individual business lines no longer need to develop and maintain dedicated components. ANKA can also manage memories across different Agents in a consistent manner. Anker Innovations is actively rolling out this module.

From Point-to-Point Integration to Unified Invocation

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway converts existing business APIs into Agent-callable tools, enabling ANKA to connect with data, applications and external business systems. When developing Agents, business teams can invoke required tools through a unified channel without repeatedly designing connection pipelines for disparate systems, lowering the complexity of API adaptation and subsequent maintenance. Both parties are currently validating the feasibility of converting business interfaces into Agent tools via AgentCore Gateway.

From Fragmented Monitoring to Centralised Observability

To support ongoing Agent operations after launch, the two sides have also carried out architecture design for observability. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Observability is planned to centrally log Agent workflows, tool invocations, runtime logs and status changes. This capability helps developers and operators troubleshoot runtime issues, analyse Agent performance and provide insights for future improvements.

Beyond product-level capabilities, the AWS team has been deeply involved in the entire ANKA project lifecycle, from product definition and architecture planning through to development and validation. During the product-design phase, both sides jointly mapped out ANKA's target users, core workflows and capability boundaries. At the architecture stage, they determined the optimal service portfolio to meet Agent runtime requirements. Once development commenced, AWS coordinated relevant technical teams to validate key capabilities including runtime isolation and memory management. Throughout this collaboration, real-world requirements from different business units were distilled into shared challenges, which were then translated into reusable ANKA capabilities via product and architectural design. This has gradually established an advancement workflow of "business practice → aligned requirements → capability building".

"Throughout the development of ANKA, Anker Innovations and the AWS team have engaged in extensive co-creation. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore delivers modular capabilities to address technical challenges covering Agent runtime, memory management, tool integration and security isolation. By reusing these built-in capabilities, Anker Innovations can cut spending on underlying infrastructure and keep project deliverables firmly focused on business value."
