You can now use Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) service discovery to discover and connect Amazon ECS tasks that use the bridge and host networking modes. This makes it easy to start using ECS service discovery for containerized applications running on Amazon ECS.
Previously, ECS service discovery only supported tasks launched using the awsvpc networking mode, which assigns each running task a dedicated elastic networking interface.
Now, you can use Amazon ECS service discovery with tasks launched using bridge and host networking modes in addition to awsvpc mode. This lets you use ECS service discovery for more container workloads without requiring you to make any networking changes.
To learn more, visit the Amazon ECS Service Discovery documentation.
You can use Amazon ECS Service Discovery in all AWS regions where Amazon ECS and Amazon Route 53 Auto Naming are available. These include US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and EU (Ireland) regions. For more information on AWS regions and services, please visit the AWS global region table.
