VMworld 2018 US is the industry’s premier digital infrastructure event, bringing you five days of innovation to accelerate your journey to a software-defined enterprise—from mobile devices to data centers and the cloud.

VMware Cloud on AWS has experienced a huge amount of interest since being announced at last year’s VMworld. This year, there are many ways for customers and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partners to learn and experience VMware Cloud on AWS.

We put together a Know Before You Go Guide which highlights all of the activities happening at VMworld 2018 US related to VMware Cloud on AWS.

AWS Presence

A key part of any VMworld is the Solutions Exchange, and this year is no different as AWS has a big presence on the show floor. AWS is at booth #1400 on the Solutions Exchange floor.

Our booth will have subject matter experts and demos of the latest in VMware Cloud on AWS. We’ll answer any questions you may have, and there will also be a theater with more than 50 presentations to choose from. You can even win an Amazon Echo Dot or pick up a pair of socks just in case you forgot to pack some for your trip.

Keynote and Breakout Sessions

The best way to set the tone for VMworld is to start with the keynote. This year, both VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger and AWS CEO Andy Jassy will be on stage to discuss the partnership and what’s new with VMware Cloud on AWS. Register for the keynote which takes place Monday, Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. PDT.

There are more than 100 sessions (spread across Sunday-Thursday) planned for VMware Cloud on AWS specifically. This includes introductory sessions, Partner/third-party solutions, vertical solutions, technical deep dives, customer panels, and various hands-on labs.

The VMware Hands-on Labs demonstrate the real value of VMware solutions. Hackathon

No technology conference can be called complete without a hackathon. The VMware {code} Hackathon allows you to sign up and register a team for yourself, or join an existing team. Ranging from Blockchain and Python to Powershell, the possibilities for projects are endless. VMware Cloud on AWS will be a subtopic under the Hybrid Cloud Theme. VMware-AWS Hybrid Cloud Community Activity

Come participate in the VMware-AWS Hybrid Cloud Community Activity. Participants will be filling stuffed animals that will be given to children in low income families. This activity will happen on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 12 – 6 p.m. in the VM Village.

VMworld Party

Last but not least is the awesome VMworld party. This year’s party, VMworld Fest, headlines several bands and will be a great chance for you and thousands of your peers to unwind together, listen to great music, and grab a beer. Learn more about VMworld Fest.
