Recapping the First AWS Partner Summit – Canada

AWS hosted its very first AWS Partner Summit – Canada in Toronto at the end of January. The Summit was a one-day event, and it was packed with business and technical content led by Rob Stevens, AWS Area Partner Sales Lead for Canada. The day included eight breakout sessions, a keynote from Terry Wise, Vice President, Global Alliances, Ecosystem and Channels, Amazon Web Services, a Canadian cloud market overview with IDC analysts Steve White and Dave Senf, and customer and partner speakers from theScore (a Splunk customer), TriNimbus (an APN Premier Consulting Partner headquartered in Canada), and SAP Canada.

Attendees had an opportunity to hear from many AWS teams including AWS Sales, Solutions Architects, Enterprise Support, AWS Professional Services, APN Programs, AWS Training, and AWS Marketing. Attendees connected one-on-one with AWS staff at “Ask the Expert” and “AWS Partner Network” stations. The day concluded with a fireside chat with Terry Wise and Rob Stevens and a networking reception. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend and present on behalf of the APN. It was such a treat to get to meet so many of our APN Partners with a presence in Canada, and to learn more about their needs and their excitement heading into 2017.
