Build custom and interactive dashboards using new runtime capabilities in QuickSight Embedding SDK

Amazon QuickSight is a fully managed, cloud-native business intelligence (BI) service that you can use to connect to your data and create interactive dashboards that can be shared with tens of thousands of users. The dashboards can be used within QuickSight or embedded in software as a service (SaaS) apps. Today, we’re launching a feature you can use to dynamically update the theme and filters of embedded dashboards and visuals at runtime through the QuickSight Embedding SDK. Runtime filtering and theming of embedded dashboards and visuals can help you seamlessly integrate your SaaS application with QuickSight embedded dashboards and visuals. You can now use the new methods available in the Embedding SDK

Automate your Amazon QuickSight assets deployment using the new Amazon EventBridge integration

We heard that you wanted an automated, scalable way to deploy, back up, or replicate Amazon QuickSight assets at scale so that BIOps teams within your organization can work in an agile manner. We are launching QuickSight assets Create, Update, and Delete (CUD) events using Amazon EventBridge. With EventBridge, developers can respond automatically to events in QuickSight such as a new dashboard creation or update. These events are delivered to EventBridge in near real time. Developers can write simple rules to indicate which events are of interest to them and what actions to take when an event matches a rule. By subscribing and responding to QuickSight events in EventBridge, customers can automate their workflows, such as continuous deployment, replication, and backups.

Introducing advanced formatting options for pivot table totals and subtotals in Amazon QuickSight

Readers want to understand data quickly when viewing reports in Amazon QuickSight. To achieve that, authors need more capability to control the format and design of pivot tables. That is why QuickSight has launched more visual display options for pivot tables, giving you more control over the positioning of totals as well as contextual information for subtotals. These capabilities are part of a continued focus of giving QuickSight users more flexibility when designing dashboards and paginated reports. Additionally, the recent launch of the hierarchy layout for pivot tables includes a layout option for pivot tables that uses indentations to differentiate items from different fields, resulting in a more readable table.
