AWS Hybrid Cloud Track Sessions: Breakouts, chalk talks, code talks, and workshops

AWS hybrid cloud solutions provide seamless AWS capabilities across every environment, spanning cloud infrastructure, on-premises deployments, and edge locations. Choose from our comprehensive portfolio of compute, networking, storage, security, identity, data integration, management, monitoring, and operations services to architect hybrid solutions tailored to your unique requirements and business scenarios.

The Hybrid Cloud sub track features four comprehensive breakout sessions, seven interactive chalk talks, two hands-on code talks, eight dynamic lightning talks, and four immersive workshops. These sessions explore how various AWS infrastructure options outside of AWS Regions, such as AWS Local Zones, AWS Dedicated Local Zones, and AWS Outposts, help customers address infrastructure needs for digital sovereignty and data residency, migration and modernization with on-premises dependencies, and generative AI with on-premises and edge data.

HMC202 | AWS wherever you need it: From the cloud to the edge While most workloads can be migrated to the cloud, some remain on-premises or at the edge due to low latency, local data processing, or digital sovereignty needs. In this session, learn how AWS services like AWS Outposts, AWS Local Zones, AWS Dedicated Local Zones, and AWS IoT support hybrid cloud and edge computing workloads such as multiplayer gaming, high-frequency trading, medical imaging, smart manufacturing, and generative AI applications with data residency requirements.

HMC303 | Migrate and modernize VMware and Java workloads with on-premises dependencies During cloud migration, certain workloads must stay on-premises or at the edge due to latency-sensitive application interdependencies, data residency requirements, or local data processing needs. This workshop guides you through migrating VMware and Java applications to AWS Outposts and AWS Local Zones while modernizing them through containerization. You will initialize AWS Application Migration Service, set up post-launch actions, containerize applications using AWS Systems Manager Automation documents, pull container images from Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR), and deploy containerized applications to AWS Outposts. Leave this workshop with practical skills in migrating legacy applications

HMC308 | Build generative and agentic AI applications on-premises and at the edge As customers scale generative AI and agentic AI implementations from pilots to production, they need to balance speed of innovation with data sovereignty requirements, low-latency edge processing needs, and space, power, and cost efficiency. This session explores how to build generative and agentic AI solutions using AWS Local Zones, AWS Outposts, and AWS Dedicated Local Zones. Discover architectural patterns and best practices for deploying foundation models across distributed locations. Learn how to implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with locally stored data. Gain insights into strategies for model selection and optimization.

HMC309 | Migrating your VMware workloads with on-premises dependencies While most VMware workloads can be easily migrated to the cloud, some need to stay on-premises due to application interdependencies, data residency requirements, or timeline constraints. Join this session to learn how AWS hybrid and edge services like AWS Local Zones and AWS Outposts allow you to migrate in place and modernize at your own pace. Dive deep on various migration pathways with Local Zones and Outposts and the migration tools and programs that you can use to simplify and accelerate transition to the cloud.

HMC310 | Digital sovereignty and data residency use cases with AWS Countries around the world are increasingly introducing or updating data residency and digital sovereignty laws that require at least one copy, or sometimes all data, to be stored or processed in a specific geographic or sovereign location that introduces new challenges for customers. This session explores how AWS services at the edge, including AWS Dedicated Local Zones, AWS Local Zones, and AWS Outposts can help you with your digital sovereignty use cases. We’ll examine best practices for data residency, security controls, and operational consistency across deployments at the edge.
