The Amazon Alexa EdTech Skills Challenge is now open!
Have a great idea for how Amazon Alexa can help your education technology product better serve students, teachers, administrators, or parents? Enter the Amazon Alexa EdTech Skills Challenge today! In collaboration with SXSW EDU, this contest is designed to find the best application of voice technology in education and is open to all US-based education technology companies.
We’re looking for your best Alexa skill ideas around one of four themes:
- Home-School Connection: Extends learning beyond the walls of the classroom and helps students learn at home.
- Accessibility: Makes learning more accessible for students with disabilities.
- Teacher or Administrator Productivity: Helps teachers and administrators be more efficient and effective.
- Student Learning: Improves the way students learn.
Once you choose your theme, submit your idea via the online application. On December 4, 2019 we’ll announce six finalists who will be invited to present their Alexa skill during a live event at the SXSW EDU 2020 conference in Austin, Texas. Finalists will receive support from the AWS team as they build their Alexa skill, as well as get a chance to win up to $50,000 in AWS Promotional Credits. Each of the five runner-ups will receive $10,000 in AWS Promotional Credits.
Submit your idea today online. Submissions for the Amazon Alexa EdTech Skills Challenge close on October 18, 2019.
