Metis adds real-time collaboration to classroom live streams with Amazon IVS

To provide students across India with the highest quality learning experience, the education technology (EdTech) company Metis leveraged Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its interactive live streams. Using Amazon Interactive Video Service (Amazon IVS), Metis now supports an average of 50,000 unique viewers daily across 700 weekly online classes.

At the end of 2022, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management had a decision to make. Earlier this year, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), hosted the fourth edition of the European Big Data Hackathon on AWS. During this year’s event, participants were tasked with developing data analytics tools to build an early warning system using data from credit card transactions to alert of sudden changes in the economy relevant for EU policymakers. LearnHaem establishes Asia Pacific’s largest haematology database on AWS

LearnHaem, a nonprofit online educational resource based in Singapore, grew out of a need to make haematology content accessible and inclusive to medical professionals and students around the world. The LearnHaem website, built on AWS, provides one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of no-cost digitized images of microscopy slides and haematology educational content available in Asia Pacific, focusing on blood and blood-related disorders.

Top highlights from the 2023 IMAGINE: Education, State, and Local Leaders conference

From July 11-12, 2023, the IMAGINE: Education, State, and Local Leaders conference from AWS gathered public sector leaders from around the world in Sacramento, CA to reimagine the future of state and local government and education. At the keynote address, Kim Majerus, vice president of global education and US state and local government at AWS, shared stories of education and state and local organizations using cloud technology to provide meaningful services for their communities. Three guest speakers joined the stage to share how they’re using AWS to protect education services against the rising threat of cyber attacks, advance cutting-edge research, promote innovative citizen services, and more.
