AWS Breaking Barriers Chile: AI prototypes that can save lives, support teachers, and reach retirees
The first AWS Breaking Barriers hackathon in Latin America welcomed 104 participants to the Universidad de Chile to build AI prototypes addressing real community challenges. Over three days, winning teams created hospital wait lists that update as patients’ conditions change, a WhatsApp chatbot that gives teachers time back with children, and a personalized assistant that helps retirees navigate pension benefits. The hackathon is part of AWS’s commitment to expanding access to AI and cloud technology in Chile.
