Episode 5: Learn AWS Well-Architected Framework in AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner

There are just two more weeks of AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner. Catch up on the previous episodes on demand at your convenience. Then, join us next week for episode five.

We offer two live, 60-minute shows each week: Mondays at 7:30 a.m. PT and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. PT. As a friendly reminder, the content we cover in each version is roughly the same but presented by a different host. Watch one or both—your choice!

Episode four review

This week, our hosts walked through the important topic of security. We started with the shared responsibility model and then moved into different AWS security services and scenarios. As usual, we took your questions during AWS Power Hour: Q&A, which livestreams 30 minutes before each AWS Power Hour: Cloud Practitioner episode as an open-forum.

If you have questions about the content covered in episode four, join either host for next week’s AWS Power Hour: Q&A. The hosts will also choose a couple of examples of weekly homework to review. A reminder about your homework from episode four:

  • Draw a highly available web application protected against common web exploits and DDoS attacks.
  • Post the drawing on Twitter or LinkedIn using #AWSPowerHourHW and tag your host (Jonathan or Blaine).

Sneak peek: episode five

Have you heard of the AWS Well-Architected Framework? This framework helps you build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructures for your applications and workloads. It’s comprised of five pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization. We’ll focus on this important framework throughout episode five as we review the architecture our hosts have built so far.
