Establishing a secure, compliant platform for healthcare transformation
Arvato Systems plans to build its Health Cloud—a cloud environment designed to meet the strict data protection and operational requirements of healthcare and life sciences organizations in Europe—using the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. Located in Brandenburg, the AWS European Sovereign Cloud is a dedicated, independent cloud infrastructure designed to help governments and companies in highly regulated industries in Europe meet enhanced data residency and operational autonomy requirements. “Historically, healthcare has faced a trade-off between innovation and compliance,” says Moeller. “The AWS European Sovereign Cloud fundamentally changes what’s possible in healthcare.”
Because it uses the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, Arvato Systems Health Cloud will remove the barriers to innovation and allow core systems and sensitive data to be moved to the cloud. It will align with the European Health Data Space (EHDS), which aims to harmonize secure health data exchange and interoperability. “Arvato Systems Health Cloud will give our customers in healthcare the confidence to use data along with cutting-edge cloud technology. It aims to support artificial intelligence–driven medical research and diagnostics, accelerating insight, empowering clinicians, and improving patient outcomes,” says Moeller.
