Health Measures

The health and safety of our customers, partners and employees remains our top priority. All attendees are required to comply with AWS’ event health measures. Signage and additional staffing will be in place to support these health measures.

At AWS Summit Ottawa the following health measures will be in place.

Vaccinations

It is recommended that all attendees at AWS Summit Ottawa be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by Health Canada, prior to attending the event.

Masks and hand sanitizer

Masks are strongly encouraged but not required. Mask mandates will be set in accordance with Ottawa Government requirements. At this stage, masks will not be required at the AWS Summit Ottawa, but all badge holders are encouraged to wear one when in indoor settings and where physical distancing is not possible. Masks will be made available through the mask and hand sanitizer stations located throughout the Shaw Center in Ottawa.

Do you require those attending the Summit to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

No. However, it is recommended that all attendees at the AWS Summit Ottawa be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Are masks required at Summit?

No. However, we encourage attendees to wear a face mask when in indoor settings, or where physical distancing is not possible. Masks will be made available through the mask and hand sanitizer stations located throughout the Shaw Center in Ottawa..

Will food and beverages still be offered?

Yes. Conference meals will be offered. We will follow all provincial, municipal, and venue guidelines for service.

What health protocols are in place at the Shaw Center?

All Shaw Center staff and attendees are required to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the building. Screening instructions are posted at all entrances. Approved cleaning chemicals (against COVID-19) are used as part of the Shaw Centre's enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocol. High touch surfaces as well as frequently visited areas are cleaned on regular basis throughout the day.

Will I be required to maintain 2 meter distancing from other attendees?

No. You will not be required to maintain 2 meter distancing during the event. 

Will I be required to consume meals in dedicated areas?

No, but we require attendees to remain stationary while they eat. Meal halls and designated eating areas are offered to provide seating to allow attendees to remain stationary while they eat. 

What happens if I (or someone else) tests positive for COVID-19 following the Summit?

If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow guidance provided by the Ottawa government for testing, isolation, masking, distancing, and seeking medical guidance. Please also report your diagnosis to the relevant public health department.
