The AWS Summit Toronto is a free event designed to bring together the cloud computing community to connect, collaborate, and learn about AWS. Summits are held in major cities around the world and attract technologists from multiple industries, segments, and learning levels who want to learn how AWS can help them innovate with speed and deliver services with scale, flexibility, and reliability.

Joshua Burgin is the General Manager of Compute Services at AWS, where he leads multiple lines of business including Amazon EC2 Spot, AWS Thinkbox, AWS Auto Scaling and EC2 Launch Experience. In this role, he is responsible for P&L, engineering, product management, operations, pricing, marketing, business development & enterprise deals.

He began his career in 1997 as one of Amazon’s first 100 employees, where he spent 3 years building software to power Amazon’s hyper-growth in e-commerce. Prior to rejoining Amazon and AWS in 2014, Joshua held product and technology leadership roles at several early stage startups, including Zynga. At Zynga, Joshua drove the development of an in-game advertising platform, which powered a 600% increase in ad revenue in 3 years.

Joshua is named inventor on multiple patents and he works with customers of all sizes to help them optimize their capacity and cost on AWS. He is also consistently ranked as one of the top presenters at AWS re:Invent and is a noted speaker at events on accelerating innovation and Amazon culture.

Choose from 50+ technical learning opportunities ranging from introductions to deep dives and includes small group hands-on workshops, lecture-style sessions, and open mic whiteboarding chalk talks. Topics will cover but are not limited to Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Serverless, Compute, Databases, Security & Compliance, and more.

The world’s first global autonomous racing league, open to anyone

Join us at the AWS Summit Toronto and for prizes, glory, and a chance to advance to the AWS DeepRacer Grand Finale at AWS re:Invent 2019 to compete for the coveted AWS DeepRacer Championship Cup. Attend a workshop where you can build and train a reinforcement learning model, or bring one you have trained at home and have the chance to join the Virtual League. You can then put your model to the test and compete on the track in the AWS Summit Expo. Start your engines, the race is on!
