Auth0 Sees Customer Opportunities Increase Tenfold Through AWS ISV Accelerate Program

Auth0, a product unit of Okta and an AWS Partner, wanted to best leverage AWS resources to expand business growth. The company was invited to join the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, which offers co-sell support and access to the AWS field team and AWS customers globally. As a result, Auth0 and AWS have built a mutual sales opportunity referral and collaboration engine, leading to a high volume of customer wins and AWS Marketplace transactions.

Auth0 provides a cloud-based customer identity and access management platform to simplify authentication and authorization for its customers worldwide. Relying on Auth0, developers can easily incorporate identity into any software, running on any device, enabling consumers to quickly and securely log in to their applications. Every month, the company supports billions of login transactions.

As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner, Auth0 runs on AWS, taking advantage of services including Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Aurora to store application data. “AWS gives us high availability and flexibility,” says Eric Snyder, Senior Director of Business Development for Auth0.

Growing the Business Through the AWS ISV Accelerate Program

In 2018, Auth0 decided to expand its AWS partnership by joining the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, a co-sell program through which AWS partners can drive new business by working closely with AWS sales teams. “We already built integrations with native AWS services to make it easy for developers to move faster. We also realized that all our customers were either using AWS or moving applications there, and we wanted to meet them where they were by building a go-to-market relationship with AWS,” says Snyder.

The  AWS ISV Accelerate Program provides Auth0 with co-sell support by brokering the connection to AWS field sellers, servicing millions of active AWS customers globally. “The AWS ISV Accelerate Program helps us access new opportunities and larger deals,” says Taylor Brooks, Partner Account Executive for Auth0. “AWS sales representatives are closely aligned with their accounts, so we collaborate on how to best serve the customer based on their desired business outcomes. Building and maintaining close relationships with AWS field sellers and solution architects is important for us in terms of recommending technologies and solving customer problems.” In addition, Auth0 offers its solution on AWS Marketplace, which accelerates procurement.

Accelerating Sales Referrals and AWS Marketplace Transactions

Auth0 has seen increased business from joining the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, such as growth in the number of AWS opportunity referrals. “We have seen an uptick in new opportunities coming our way from AWS, whether from account mapping, sales enablement, and joint marketing campaigns,” says Snyder. “Over the last two years we have built a repeatable motion with AWS, resulting in a strong shared pipeline of opportunities we pursue together.”
 
Additionally, Auth0 has grown its business on AWS Marketplace through the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. “We believe in customer demand, and what we have heard from AWS customers is that they wish to buy Auth0 via the AWS Marketplace,” says Snyder. “We have rapidly built AWS Marketplace into our selling motions, growing the number of transactions closed more than tenfold in the past two years.”

Enabling a Holistic Co-Selling Process

By aligning with AWS through the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, Auth0 has increased its access to developers and customers in the AWS community. “The partnership aligns our technology and sales motions with AWS, and allows potential customers to easily find us,” says Brooks. “AWS ISV Accelerate provides the incentives and the tools for the Auth0 and AWS field teams to focus on customer success, collaboration, and growth.”
 
Auth0 has grown its AWS-associated sales pipeline from one percent to 30 percent. This growth is the result of better clarity around co-selling opportunities. “Working closely with AWS sales through the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, we can ensure that we’re registering and co-selling on opportunities that have a higher chance for AWS to add value. This is helping drive mutually beneficial wins,” Brooks says.
