Overview
In the competitive real estate industry, maintaining a unified brand image across diverse marketing channels is crucial. Ray White is one of the largest real estate groups in Australasia, with over 14,000 members working across 850 offices in Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia.
With such a large and disparate team, the organization faced challenges establishing brand consistency across its multiple channels. Ray White discovered over 1,200 of its employees were creating marketing materials using their personal Canva accounts. This independent action led to inconsistencies in fonts and brand colors, undermining the company's brand identity.
To resolve this issue, Ray White implemented Canva Enterprise, a solution developed on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Canva Enterprise enables organizations to create, collaborate, and publish on-brand visual content with a secure platform.
As a result, Ray White has significantly improved marketing effectiveness at scale and increased team productivity.

Opportunity | Enhancing Marketing Cohesion across International Offices
Ray White generates a wide range of marketing materials—including property listings kits, social media advertisements, and email newsletters—to cater to its wide market presence. Initially, employees across the company's global offices used personal Canva accounts independently to produce these materials. This inefficiency resulted in many inconsistencies with variations of brand fonts, colors, and logos being used across marketing channels.
In 2020, Ray White collaborated with Canva, who is also an AWS Partner, to centralize the real estate group's marketing efforts. They have since implemented Canva Enterprise, powered by AWS, providing seamless brand consistency across all marketing content, centralized permissions control, and enterprise-level ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type II compliance.

Maintaining a strong and consistent brand identity is crucial for Ray White to effectively convey our core values and unique strengths. By adopting Canva Enterprise, powered by AWS, we've started to centralize our marketing operations. This consolidation has not only significantly enhanced our team's productivity and efficiency, but also resulted in substantial savings."

Solution | Harnessing a Centralized Design Platform Powered by AWS
With Canva Enterprise, Ray White employees can now streamline the creation of visual communication and marketing materials. This has allowed Ray White to provide a cost-effective design tool to franchisees saving an estimated AU$200,000 over the next two years.
The Brand Kit, one of the main features of Canva Enterprise that features advanced design approvals, centralizes Ray White’s company logos, fonts and brand colors within the platform. Teams now have one-stop access to pre-designed templates, allowing them to easily edit and create marketing materials such as real estate listing presentations, social media assets, and email newsletters, ensuring consistency across all channels. Ray White members can now spend less time designing and approving assets, and more time on marketing production, enhancing overall productivity and efficiency.
“We’ve seen new levels of efficiency servicing our corporate and network teams. Our design team used to be responsible for creating and editing all assets. With Canva, we can create templates and share these with our teams to edit, allowing more time for our design team to focus on bigger projects,” says Todd Alexander, Head of Marketing, Ray White Group.
Canva Enterprise taps on several AWS technologies to deliver robust, scalable, and secure services. To offer Canva for Enterprise as a secure platform, Canva uses AWS Identity and Access Management (AWS IAM) to securely manage access to AWS services and AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS) to encrypt data.
For graphics-intensive tasks required by Ray White, Canva Enterprise utilizes G5 instances on Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), a fully managed container orchestration service that helps to more efficiently deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications. These instances provide the necessary graphics processing unit (GPU) capacity for sophisticated image processing, producing high-quality marketing materials that adhere to the real estate group's brand standards.
Additionally, Canva collaborates with AWS Professional Services to enhance its security measures. This includes deploying a security data lake that processes over 50 million log records daily, enhancing Canva's capability to safeguard data and respond to potential security threats effectively. This robust security framework supports the real estate group's teams in crafting effective advertising and marketing campaigns without concerns over data integrity or security.

Outcome | Revolutionizing Team Efficiency and Effectiveness
Since integrating Canva Enterprise into its operations Ray White is on its way to achieving consistent branding across its marketing materials, social media, and digital advertisements. By consolidating marketing efforts onto Canva Enterprise, Ray White has not only gained significant cost savings for its members, but also eliminated the need to train them on multiple platforms.
As one of the central sources for all visual content production, Canva Enterprise powered by AWS saves Ray White teams significant time by allowing them to operate autonomously, boosting overall productivity. As a result, Ray White has unlocked more efficient workflows, with time spent on design approvals reduced by over 15% per week.
“Maintaining a strong and consistent brand identity is crucial for Ray White to effectively convey our core values and unique strengths. By adopting Canva Enterprise, powered by AWS, we've started to centralize our marketing operations. This consolidation has not only significantly enhanced our team's productivity and efficiency, but also resulted in substantial savings,” said Ben Cowie, chief information officer at Ray White.
