AWS Elemental MediaLive Enhances Support for File-Based Inputs for Live Channels

Posted on: Jul 26, 2019

With AWS Elemental MediaLive, you can now use more playout-style features for your live channels with file-based inputs. These features allow you to effectively configure unlimited file inputs and start and stop anywhere, at an exact time reference, within the file being used as the input. With a dynamic input, you can define the location of the file source when scheduling the switch to the input, rather than having to define it before the channel is started. You can also define which part of the file to play, with IN and OUT parameters, and request the change to be made immediately rather than scheduled in the future.

AWS Elemental MediaLive is a broadcast-grade live video processing service. It lets you create high-quality live video streams for delivery to broadcast televisions and internet-connected multiscreen devices, like connected TVs, tablets, smartphones, and set-top boxes.

The service functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities you need to transport, create, package, monetize, and deliver video.
