AWS Config Support for Amazon SQS Is Now Available in AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions

AWS Config now supports Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS) in all AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. AWS Config provides a detailed view of the configuration of AWS resources in your AWS account. This includes how the resources are related to one another and how they were configured in the past so that you can see how the configurations and relationships changed over time.

With this launch, you can track changes to the configuration of Amazon SQS queues, such as queue policy, version, tags, message settings (such as message size, visibility time out), server side encryption and first-in first-out (FIFO) queue settings. You can also create change-triggered AWS Config rules to help you verify whether these changes comply with your internal governance policies, regulatory standards, and best practices on a continuous and real-time basis.

Get started by enabling AWS Config in your account by using the AWS Config console or the AWS CLI. Select the resource types for which you want to track changes. If you previously configured AWS Config to record all resource types, then Amazon SQS resources will be automatically recorded in your account.

Amazon SQS eliminates the complexity and overhead associated with managing and operating message-oriented middleware, and empowers developers to focus on differentiating work.
