Overview
Enterprises using the ignio AIOps platform from Digitate were looking for easier deployment, lower costs, and faster software updates. To meet these needs, Digitate migrated customers on ignio to Amazon Web Services (AWS), delivering a more cost-effective IT environment that reduces expenses, delivers updates and enhancements in weeks instead of months, and streamlines procurement for customers through a centralized platform.
About Digitate
Digitate builds AI technologies to help enterprises automate IT operations. The company’s agentic AI platform, ignio, combines observability, AI-powered insights, and automation to help enterprises operate smarter, faster, and with greater resilience.
Opportunity | Simplifying deployment and scaling through cloud migration
Founded in 2015, Digitate delivers SaaS AIOps solutions to more than 250 global enterprises. Its core product, ignio, is built on agentic AI technology that provides advanced intelligence and automation, reducing the need for human intervention. “ignio offers observability, automation, and business health monitoring to give enterprises visibility across the application stack,” says Rahul Kelkar, chief product officer at Digitate. The platform applies machine learning data and patterns to deliver root cause analysis while automated remediation actions and workflows help resolve issues and shorten mean time to resolution.
The ignio platform was initially hosted on premises, but growing adoption made implementation difficult. “Some customers were having a challenging time deploying the solution, and we knew offering it as a SaaS product in the cloud would make the process easier and speed up updates,” says Kelkar. The company also sought more reliable and cost-effective infrastructure as operational costs rose with each new customer.
Solution | Migrating ignio to AWS to deliver a seamless SaaS experience
To address these challenges, Digitate began planning its migration to AWS in late 2022. “Out of all the cloud providers we considered, AWS leads in constantly innovating and releasing new products, and we wanted to be part of that from a modernization perspective,” says Kelkar. He adds that the team was also looking for a strategic partner to support growth on the go-to-market side, and AWS was the right choice.
In late 2024, the company started moving customers to AWS. The containerized platform now runs on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) and Amazon Aurora. “It was important that our customers have a seamless experience when moving to AWS, and we had to make some architectural changes to our product,” Kelkar notes. “Now we’re using cloud-native services, which has improved product usability and simplified product architecture.”
Digitate used AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) to streamline the data migration process while also subscribing to AWS Enterprise Support for proactive assistance. Digitate participated in the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP), which provided guidance and best practices to structure the migration more effectively. Close collaboration between AWS Customer Solutions and Enterprise Support teams helped address challenges early, ensuring a smooth transition and uninterrupted customer operations post-migration.
“AWS has been very supportive during the migration and is always available to ensure the customer experience isn’t impacted, which is always our top priority,” says Kelkar.
Outcome | Improving operational efficiency and accelerating updates
Moving more than 60 ignio customers to AWS has delivered Digitate’s primary goal of reducing operational costs. The company also gained agility in the cloud, making it possible to roll out updates and enhancements to ignio more quickly. “We recently announced a new software release with agentic AI capabilities, and we are gearing up to deliver these changes to customers in weeks instead of months,” says Kelkar. “This ensures that all our customers on AWS can access the most up-to-date platform.”
In early 2025, Digitate also began offering ignio on AWS Marketplace across all regions. AWS Marketplace provided a centralized onboarding platform that helped Digitate streamline procurement and deployment. Kelkar explains, “As a SaaS company, it was important for us to offer our products on AWS Marketplace to make procurement easier and to gain stronger go-to-market capabilities by working closely with AWS sellers.” One ignio product is now live, marking two AWS Marketplace launches to date and expanding the company’s global go-to-market reach. “AWS Marketplace enables single-click deployment and makes procurement faster and easier for ignio customers,” says Kelkar.
Digitate is also building on its growing relationship with AWS to explore generative AI technologies. “AWS has given us sandbox environments for our developers to experiment and become comfortable with its technologies,” says Kelkar. “Over time, we expect to use these technologies to deliver additional benefits to our customers.”
