Overview

With the global rise of hybrid and remote work, employees are working across devices and locations like never before. This period of growth, coupled with new challenges, has stretched IT teams thin. As a result, employee experience, productivity, and overall engagement are declining. The HP Workforce Experience Platform emerges as a powerful solution that equips IT leaders with near real-time data processing and actionable insights, empowering them to move employees toward a frictionless experience.

Using Amazon Web Services (AWS), the HP Workforce Experience Platform can process and analyze digital friction data points across millions of connected devices in real time and surface intelligence-based insights and recommendations at scale. IT teams are thus able to address employee needs and improve their experiences proactively.

Opportunity | Using AWS to Provide Exceptional Employee Experiences for HP

As 66 percent of companies embrace flexible work models, the modern workplace faces exciting and unforeseen challenges. The average employee uses two or three devices and expects them to work seamlessly.

A recent case study using the HP Workforce Experience Platform revealed many issues with a company's fleet of over 50,000 devices. Matters related to timely updates, deployed PC lifespan, and PC performance add to a growing list of digital friction points that directly affect employee satisfaction.

The HP Workforce Experience Platform exposes problematic issues by using advanced methodologies to detect, track, and suggest possible strategies to mitigate digital friction that may exist among the workforce’s devices. The results reveal major concerns that impact employee productivity and satisfaction: 90 percent of issues were caused by PC CPU optimization with 8GB of RAM or less; the age of the PCs was not always the root cause of problem; and side-by-side testing with more RAM brought a 33 percent increase in employee productivity.

Simply gathering telemetry from PCs to fix problems only addresses a tiny portion of the overall issue; IT teams must consider more critical touchpoints when managing a company’s infrastructure, including access to near real-time data from a diverse set of devices, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to solve productivity dilemmas, and access to users’ uncommon cues which, over time, reveal usage patterns that result in workforce anxiety.

The HP Workforce Experience Platform introduces a new state-of-the-art solution ready to identify and remediate issues in devices, applications, and user experiences. It determines the causality of these issues to help prevent future occurrences. At the same time, the platform is reliable, compliant, secure, and efficient—at scale.

Solution | Delivering Powerful Value to Businesses Using AWS Cloud Services

The HP Workforce Experience Platform is an AI-powered, modular platform that helps identify digital friction and empowers organizations to unlock the full potential of their workforce. The platform transcends vendor and device limitations with seamless integration and, coupled with a next-generation user interface, delivers a suite of capabilities to elevate every part of the employee experience. Furthermore, the platform securely and efficiently provides IT leaders with actionable insights, empowering them to address employee issues before they arise. A 2024 pilot review reveals that the HP Workforce Experience Platform experienced a significant enhancement of over 70 percent in its Net Promoter Customer Satisfaction score, as indicated by employees.

The platform features four notable components:

First, data is gathered in near real-time from devices, appliances, and software-as-a-service clouds. Second, AI learns from diverse data sets to take inventory, benchmark organizations, address root-cause issues, and provide recommendations to improve employee productivity. Third, Autonomous Actions provide persistent fixes, prioritizing recent data. Fourth, Standardized Interfaces and External Integrations seamlessly connect with customized website visualizations and standardized enterprise systems.

The HP Workforce Experience Platform uses AWS to employ vast amounts of data and transform them into actions. Critical services, including Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)—an object storage service built to retrieve any amount of data from anywhere—and Amazon Redshift, the best price-performance cloud data warehouse, help the platform ingest billions of data points and analyze over 3 PB of digital interaction data daily with speed and security.

The platform also relies on Amazon Kinesis, which processes and analyzes streaming data at any scale, to ingest this data from its Amazon S3 data lake. Amazon EMR—the industry-leading cloud big data solution for petabyte-scale data processing, interactive analytics, and machine learning—is used to process this data and make it available for insights.

As organizations grapple with managing the employee experience, the HP Workforce Experience Platform guides them to excel in the evolving work landscape. This single cloud-based platform streamlines data ingestion, analytics, resolution initiation, and connection provision for seamless API integration—while reducing costs. By incorporating AI insights from data across organizations, it autonomously predicts and resolves digital issues.

Outcome | Tapping into a Massive Data Point Source to Identify and Remediate Issues at Scale

Determining an industry trend based on the performance of a single company will not produce reliable results. Instead, the HP Workforce Experience Platform identifies billions of anonymized data points, empowering a company to evaluate employee satisfaction scores and resolutions across multiple industries.

With a staggering 4.6 million digital friction remediations conducted monthly, the HP Workforce Experience Platform provides actionable insights and cutting-edge recommendations to improve employee productivity. The platform elevates workforce engagement with six significant benefits: identifying experiences hindering engagement, delivering comprehensive experience analysis, enhancing workforce productivity, managing daily processes impacting outcomes, optimizing IT infrastructure, and providing direct access for quick resolutions.

By combining HP’s platform with AWS cloud services, organizations enjoy a complete solution that can tackle modern workforce challenges. The HP Workforce Experience Platform transforms organizations into a new era of employee productivity by reducing digital friction.
