AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) now supports Memory-Optimized R4 instances for migrations or ongoing replications. R4 instances have more memory per vCPU, and can be used to migrate or replicate workloads that are memory bound, typically with high Transactions per Second (TPS), that need to be migrated in near real time.
With this launch, DMS supports 3 instance types: Burstable T2 type instances, Compute-Optimized C4 instances, and Memory-Optimized R4 instances. For more detail on choosing the right instance type during a migration with DMS, visit this blog post.
Please visit the DMS product page or documentation for more information, and see AWS DMS Pricing for regional availability.
