AWS congratulates recipients of inaugural NAB Show Excellence in Sustainability Awards

Recognizing the individuals, organizations, and innovative products/services promoting conservation and reusability of natural resources and fostering economic and social development, the first-ever Excellence in Sustainability Awards were handed out yesterday during the 2023 National Association of Broadcasters Show (NAB) in Las Vegas, NV. A proud partner of the event and a company dedicated to net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, AWS celebrated with the community as NAB unveiled this year’s winners.

Selected by an independent panel of sustainability experts, 2023 award recipients include:

The Sustainability Champion (Individual)

Chris Brähler, Vice President of Product, SDVI for a small organization.
Larry O’Connor, Founder and CEO, Other World Computing for a medium organization.

The Sustainability in Leadership Award (Organization)

Mrs. Greenfilm for a small organization.
Amino for a medium organization.
Media.Monks for a large organization.
Greening of Streaming for a non-profit organization.

The Sustainability in Product or Service Award

SmartFM, WorldCast Systems for a small organization.
X Platform, Appear for a medium organization.
CableOS Broadband Platform, Harmonic for a large organization.

Additionally, NAB and AWS named Creative Visions the beneficiary of nomination fees collected for this year’s submissions; the funds will aid the non-profit organization in continuing to create impactful media, support storytellers, and empower education around human rights issues.

AWS congratulates all award recipients and is thankful for their ongoing commitment to fostering sustainability in the media technology industry.
