AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program expands to college students

Starting today, the AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program is now available to college students around the world. Previously, the AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program was only available to educators. Now students can also apply to participate in the program to receive exclusive benefits and opportunities from Amazon Web Services (AWS). The AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program recognizes individuals for their innovation and contributions that prepare students for careers in the modern technology workforce.

As members of the program, AWS Educate Student Ambassadors will receive the support they need to help grow the AWS Educate community at their school and other benefits including:

• The opportunity to develop public speaking, technical writing, community leadership, and networking skills
• Training and mentorship from Amazon employees
• Quarterly technical talks on in-demand AWS services such as AWS RoboMaker and AWS DeepRacer
• Limited edition AWS Educate Student Ambassador Program branded items
• Digital credentials verifying their participation
• Early access, under NDA, to select AWS features and services
• Incremental AWS Promotional Credit

This program gives student leaders the opportunity to gain real-life experience while helping their peers gain valuable AWS technical skills to develop successful careers. Through presentations, social media, hackathons, and other events, AWS Educate Student Ambassadors will share information about AWS and AWS Educate on campus with other students. AWS Educate Student Ambassadors will be chosen annually from among AWS Educate members through an application process, which opened today.

“After launching our AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program for faculty in May 2019, the demand has been high for a student-focused program,” said Ken Eisner, Director, Worldwide Education Programs, AWS, and Head of AWS Educate. “We are expanding the AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program to recognize and work closely with students who are interested in inspiring their peers to learn AWS Cloud skills.”

The AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program is available to AWS Educate student members who are over 18 years old and enrolled at a college or university. The application period starts today and ends on April 16, 2020. Students interested in applying can visit the AWS Educate Student Ambassador Program website.
