At the fifth annual AWS IMAGINE Nonprofit event—the first online—nonprofits from around the world shared stories of how technology came together in support of their mission to impact the communities they serve. The annual event brings together nonprofit leaders, technologists, and innovators to discuss how technology can help drive a positive impact for both people and the planet. Halcyon and AWS launch program to advance women social entrepreneurs in Bahrain
Halcyon and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of an intensive incubator program for early-stage women-founded social enterprise technology startups based in Bahrain. The 2021 Bahrain Women’s Intensive program will help social entrepreneurs scale their ventures and use AWS Cloud technology to help innovate and grow. The program for tech startups is now accepting applications.

Meet the Women Building AWS Technical Communities Around the World
At the center of the AWS technical community are community-led AWS Meetups or User Groups – now over 300 in more than 75 countries. These groups meet regularly to learn about AWS products and services, network with others, gain programming best practices, and more. As these communities continue to expand, it’s exciting to see new communities being formed in smaller, emerging markets, as well as ones focused on underrepresented communities. This fall, AWS launched a diversity scholarship program, inviting engineers to re:Invent on a full scholarship who help lead or co-lead an AWS-focused User Group in an emerging market who also identify with an underrepresented community.
