Quote

Think big. Start small. Go fast."

As an Executive Government Advisor, Morgan works with senior leaders from public sector organizations and their partners to share real-world examples of innovation in government, and develop strategies for modernizing citizen services with the cloud. Morgan helps organizations work backwards from the outcomes they hope to achieve, then optimize for the people and process parts of the change before diving deep on technology.

Prior to joining Amazon Web Services (AWS), Morgan served as the State CIO for the State of Arizona’s Strategic Enterprise Technology office where he implemented Arizona’s cloud-first policy, migrating applications off the state-owned mainframe, modernizing agency licensing and permitting systems into cloud hosted Customer Relationship Management, and consolidating 30 on-premise legacy email systems to a single cloud-based collaboration suite, enterprising cybersecurity tools and governance across 100+ state agencies, and helping craft legislation to make digital signatures legal for Arizona contracts.

Before serving in government, Morgan ran the global Datacenters for Expedia for three years, held a variety of IT leadership roles for GoDaddy for over 10 years, and supported the B2B ecommerce platform for the Fortune-50 Intel corporation before that.

Morgan graduated with a bachelor’s of science in Business Operations from DeVry University, and is pursuing a Masters of Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.
