Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) allows customers to deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2016 in a fast and dependable environment to run any compatible Windows-based solution. You can use EC2 instances with a variety of Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) including Windows Server 2016, Nano Server, Windows Server 2016 with Containers, and Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server 2016. By running Windows Server 2016 on Amazon EC2, you can leverage the performance and elasticity of AWS to get up and running quickly on this latest Windows release.

Windows Server 2016 is Microsoft’s newest release of Windows Server. Windows Server 2016 comes loaded with a variety of powerful new features including support for Docker and Windows containers. The release also features a Nano Server deployment option that restarts significantly faster than the Standard Edition and uses a fraction of the disk space.
