Power your startup with 1 year's worth of Kiro Pro+, now available through AWS Startups

At AWS, we believe innovation should move at the speed of an idea. Founders and builders are using AI to accelerate product development, but early-stage teams face a familiar challenge—how do you move fast while keeping things structured? That's where Kiro comes in. Using spec-driven development, Kiro enables teams to more efficiently leverage trusted, pre-built agents within their own AWS environments. In preview, Kiro has seen rapid adoption with more than a quarter of a million developers already using Kiro.

And today, the wait is over. Alongside Kiro's general availability, we’re launching the Kiro Startup Credits Program, a new global initiative offering eligible startups up to one year’s worth of Kiro Pro+. This limited-time program will help early-stage to Series B companies build faster, with the structure and scalability they need from day one.

A year's worth of Kiro Pro+

Kiro helps developers and teams do their best work by bringing mature engineering practices to AI coding with spec-driven development powered by AI agents. Through the Kiro Startup Credits Program, eligible startups can apply for up to one year of Kiro Pro+ at no cost, with credits automatically applied to their AWS accounts. The program is available in most countries globally and offers three tiers:

  • Starter Tier – up to 2 users
  • Growth Tier – up to 50 users
  • Scale Tier – up to 100 users

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and approved startups will be contacted via email. If you select a plan greater than Kiro Pro+ upon receiving credits or exceed the number of users, you may be charged additional fees.

Signing up for Kiro with AWS Activate Credits

Startups who don't participate in the Kiro Startup Credits Program won't be left out. Starting today, AWS Activate credits can also be used to sign up for Kiro.

In the same way that AWS Activate credits can cover costs associated to nearly all of the more than 200 fully featured services from AWS, including machine learning, compute, databases, security, storage, applications, containers, robotics, and dev tools, startups can also use credits to sign up for Kiro any time.

Building and scaling faster through spec-driven development

AWS created Kiro to empower developers through accessible, secure AI innovation. This reflects AWS’s continued investment in giving builders more choice and flexibility as they create, test, and scale next-generation applications on the cloud.

Instead of stitching together multiple dev tools or managing prompt engineering, founders and developers can define requirements, generate tested code, and deploy features in minutes — all while Kiro’s intelligent AI agents handle documentation, testing, and reviews automatically. With spec-driven development, startups can iterate quickly, maintain alignment across teams, and scale cleanly as complexity grows. For early-stage founders moving from MVP to product-market fit, Kiro turns velocity into sustainable engineering progress.

Empowering founders to build what’s next

Whether you’re prototyping your first product or scaling to thousands of users, Kiro embodies the intersection where traditional development meets AI powered acceleration.

Apply before December 31, 2025  to receive your Kiro Startup Credits and unlock a year of building and scaling faster through spec-driven development. Apply here.
