Q: Who should attend AWS Summits?
Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at an AWS Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

All AWS Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS engineers, and hands-on technical training. You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to get your technical questions answered.

Q: How do I register?
To register for the AWS Summit – Chicago, click "Register For Free" on the home page to begin the registration process. Space is limited so reserve your free seat today.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?
Summit registration gives you access to the keynote, over 50 breakout sessions, workshops, demos, hands-on labs, The HUB, Game Day, Security Jam and Happy Hour. Meals offered include continental breakfast and boxed lunch. Please note: bootcamps are not included in your summit registration.

Q: How can I register for a technical bootcamp?

You can add technical bootcamps to your registration. Please be advise the cost to participate in a bootcamp is $600 per bootcamp. To register for the bootcamp, please follow the same registration process outlined above. You will be prompted to add and pay for the bootcamp during the registration process should you choose to register for one.

Q: How can I sign up for a technical bootcamp if I am already registered?

If you are already registered for the AWS Summit and would like to sign up for a technical bootcamp, return to your Summit account and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify” to add a bootcamp. You will need a valid credit card to complete your registration.

Q: What is the price of registration?

While Summit registration is free, technical bootcamps cost $600.00 USD. See Bootcamps and Labs for technical bootcamp details.

Q: Can I get a receipt of my bootcamp registration?
Upon completing the online registration process, you will be emailed a confirmation email with bootcamp payment details from awssummits@cvent.com. Please check your junk mail folder. If you do not receive the confirmation email contact us for a copy at AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com.

Q: Can I register to take an AWS Certification Exam?

Yes, we are offering AWS Certification Exams at the Summit on July 26-27. Associate exams cost $150. Professional and Specialty exams cost $300. As seating is limited, please register for your onsite exam in advance. Register for an onsite exam.

Q: How do I update my registration information?
To view or make changes to your registration details, return to your Summit account and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify.”

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your Summit or Bootcamp registration at any time by logging into your Summit account.

Q: Do I have to register for each breakout session?

There is no pre-registration for sessions or workshops. All sessions will be filled on a first-come first-seated basis. However, we recommend taking advantage of the scheduling tools on AWS Summit mobile app to help organize your day. The app will be available on July 7 and can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

Q: Is there a way I can see what breakout sessions are being offered?

Yes, you can see the session and workshops being offer at the Summit by visiting the agenda page and clicking on the “view session catalog” button.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?
The AWS Summit – Chicago venue, McCormick Place, has been designed to make everyone’s visit as productive and comfortable as possible. Read more about the facility’s accessibility here. If you need additional assistance or have accommodation requests, please email AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com at least one week prior to the event. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.

Q: What special dietary requirements are accommodated?

Q: What information will be shared with sponsors?
We will not share your contact information with sponsors. However, if you scan your badge at an exhibitor booth or a sponsored breakout session, you are opting into communications from that sponsor. Upon scanning, sponsors will obtain your contact information and may follow up with you. If you would prefer to be reached at your work email rather than your personal, please edit your registration information accordingly.

Q: Do you accept submissions for speakers/session ideas?
At this time, we do not accept submissions for Summit speakers or session content although we always appreciate customer feedback.

Q: What is the AWS Summit Code of Conduct?
AWS expects all Summit participants (attendees, staff, speakers, sponsors, etc.) to behave in such a way as to create a safe, supportive learning environment while at the conference and any conference-related events. AWS will not tolerate any form of harassment or offensive speech or behavior, including relating to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability. Participants engaging in behavior deemed by AWS as discriminatory or offensive will be asked to leave the conference or related event immediately. Anyone witnessing such behavior is encouraged to contact an AWS staff member so direct action can be taken.
