Q: Who should attend AWS Summits?
Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at an AWS Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

All AWS Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS engineers, and hands-on technical training. You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and Partners to get your technical questions answered.

Q: Is there an age requirement to attend?
Yes. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend.

Q: How do I register?
Click "Register For Free" to start the registration process for the AWS Summit on August 2. Space is limited so reserve your free seat today. Please note: There is a cost to register for an AWS bootcamp on August 1. Read more here.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?
Summit registration gives you access to the keynote, over 50+ breakout sessions, workshops, demos, hands-on labs, The Expo, Chalk Talks, Team Challenges, and Networking Reception. Meals offered include continental breakfast and boxed lunch. Please note: bootcamps are not included in your summit registration.

Q: How can I register for a technical bootcamp?
You can add an AWS bootcamp to your registration. Please be advised the bootcamps are being held on Wednesday, August 1 at the McCormick Place West. Please visit the bootcamp page for information on what bootcamps are offered and the cost to participate. To register for the bootcamp, please follow the same registration process outlined above. You will be prompted to add and pay for the bootcamp during the registration process should you choose to register for one.

Q: How can I sign up for a technical bootcamp if I am already registered?
If you are already registered for the AWS Summit and would like to sign up for a technical bootcamp, return to your Summit account and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify” to add a bootcamp. You will need a valid credit card to complete your registration.

Q: What is the price of registration?
While Summit registration is free, there is a cost to attend an AWS technical bootcamp. See the Bootcamps page for AWS bootcamp details and cost.

Q: Can I get a receipt of my bootcamp registration?
Upon completing the online registration process, you will be emailed a confirmation email with bootcamp payment details from awssummits@cventmail.com. Please check your junk mail folder. If you do not receive the confirmation email contact us for a copy at AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com.

Q: Can I register to take an AWS Certification Exam?
No. We are not offering AWS Certification Exams this year. Please see the Bootcamps page for details on AWS Certification Exam Readiness Bootcamps.

Q: How do I update my registration information?
To view or make changes to your registration details, return to your Summit account and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify”.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your AWS Summit or AWS bootcamp registration at any time by logging into your Summit account.

Q: Do I have to register for each breakout session?
There is no pre-registration for sessions, workshops, chalk talks, team challenges, and demos. These will be filled on a first-come first-seated basis. An AWS Americas Summits mobile app will be available approximately two weeks before the AWS Summit to help organize your day. The app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?
The AWS Summit – Chicago venue, McCormick Place West, has been designed to make everyone’s visit as productive and comfortable as possible. Read more about the facility’s accessibility here. If you need additional assistance or have accommodation requests, please email AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com at least one week prior to the event. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.

Q: What special dietary requirements are accommodated?

Q: What information will be shared with sponsors?
If you agreed (for example, when you registered for the event) that we could share your contact information with our sponsors, then we may share it with our sponsors. If you agreed that we could share your contact information with our sponsors and you scan your badge at an exhibitor booth or a sponsored breakout session, then we will share your contact information with that sponsor. If we share your contact information with a sponsor, the sponsor may send you marketing materials. We will handle your information in accordance with the AWS Privacy Policy, and information provided to a sponsor is subject to the sponsor’s privacy policy.

Q: Do you accept submissions for speakers/session ideas?
At this time, we do not accept submissions for Summit speakers or session content although we always appreciate customer feedback.
