New DevOps Engineer Certification

Today we’re announcing a new AWS Certification for the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional. As you probably know, DevOps practices increase IT efficiency for your business, allowing you to respond more quickly to your customers by providing stable, secure, and predictable IT environments. As cloud computing becomes moves in to the mainstream, the demand for DevOps skills continues to rise as companies are seeking to gain benefits from this practice. This certification helps IT professionals validate their skills in the DevOps area and allows employers to identify qualified candidates to lead DevOps initiatives.

New AWS Certification for DevOps Engineers
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is the next step in the path for AWS Certified Developers and SysOps Administrators. This exam validates technical expertise in provisioning, operating, and managing distributed application systems on the AWS platform. It is intended to identify individuals who are capable of implementing and managing systems which are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.

To be eligible for this exam, you must already be certified as an AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate. You should also have several years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments, along with experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language, all topped off with experience in automation and testing via scripting or programming. Additionally, you should understand agile and other modern development processes and methodologies.
