AWS Week in Review – March 24, 2014

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, March 24	We added AWS customer success stories from Comcast, GolfTEC, Grok, Nintendo, and mobli. We announced a Major Upgrade to Amazon CloudSearch.
Tuesday, March 25	We announced the City on a Cloud Innovation Challenge.
Wednesday, March 26	We hosted the first AWS Summit of 2014 in San Francisco. We announced the 42nd AWS Price Reduction, this one for EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elastic MapReduce. We announced VPC Peering for the Virtual Private Cloud. We announced that Amazon WorkSpaces is now Available. We announced that AWS has Achieved DoD Provisional Authorization. We added support for New Instance Types for Elastic MapReduce.
Thursday, March 27	We announced that Version 2014.03 of the Amazon Linux AMI is now Available. We announced that AWS OpsWorks now Supports Version 11.10 of Chef.
Friday, March 28	This week AWS Marketplace added new products including Oracle Database 11g, Oracle Database 12c, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Cisco Cloud Services Router, and QualysGuard Web Application Firewall.
