AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange now support sellers and data providers from Japan

Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), data providers, and consulting partners based in Japan can now transact in AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange. This expansion increases the breadth of software and data offerings available to the hundreds of thousands of active AWS customers in Japan. Global customers can now purchase directly from software and data providers based in Japan in AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange. You can also procure software through local and regional consulting partners with Consulting Partner Private Offers (CPPO) in AWS Marketplace.

Benefits to software and data providers

With this expansion, ISVs and data providers from Japan can now reach hundreds of thousands of AWS Marketplace buyers and AWS Data Exchange subscribers around the world. This also helps to grow their global business. Software from ISVs such as Insight Technology, Aptpod, and Tech Bureau Holdings can now be listed in AWS Marketplace. Data products from QUICK Corporation, JMDC, and Nikkei are now listed in AWS Data Exchange.

ISVs from Japan can transact with customers across multiple software deployment models, such as AMIs or SaaS. ISVs can also offer a variety of contract models, from flexible consumption pricing to multi-year agreements. Data providers can provide subscribers with simplified data access and management and use AWS Data Exchange infrastructure to support data hosting, entitlements, and delivery.

Japanese ISVs and data providers welcomed the announcement:

“As a Japan-based ISV, we are excited to leverage AWS Marketplace to sell our major products, such as PISO and Insight Database Testing (IDT), which are tools to monitor and facilitate database management. AWS Marketplace allows us to simplify software licensing and procurement for our customers around the globe. We look forward to growing with AWS,” said Masaya Ishikawa, CTO at Insight Technology.

Benefits to consulting partners

Starting today, consulting partners based in Japan can sell software in AWS Marketplace. This launch enables AWS Marketplace customers to work with regional and local consulting partners in Japan. These consulting partners offer knowledge of their business, localized support, and trusted expertise through Consulting Partner Private Offers (CPPO). Consulting partners such as Classmethod, Inc. are now able sell software in AWS Marketplace through CPPOs.

Now that Classmethod is available in AWS Marketplace, our customers have access to a fast and efficient procurement process for world class software, while we focus on delivery and implementation of these solutions on AWS.”
