AWS for Industries

A Healthcare and Life Sciences Guide to AWS re:Invent 2023

Throughout 2023, we’ve witnessed an acceleration of innovation at the intersection of health and technology. And with this year’s AWS re:Invent right around the corner, industry and AWS leaders are preparing to share their cutting edge technologies, use cases, and breakthroughs fueled by integrated data strategies, machine learning, and generative AI.

Running November 27 through December 1 in Las Vegas, NV, this year’s re:Invent will offer hundreds of sessions and featured a dedicated track focused on healthcare and life sciences breakthroughs, featuring speakers from Johnson & Johnson, UC San Diego, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and Gilead. During these sessions, you’ll learn how AWS experts and breakthrough leaders across healthcare providers, academic research, pharma/biotech, and medical devices are using cloud technology to transform their businesses and innovate on behalf of patients.

Interested in attending? Make sure to do the following:

  • Visit the re:Invent website for everything you need to know about re:Invent.
  • Review the Healthcare Track and the Life Sciences Track guides for information on focused sessions, workshops, resources, and networking events to help you plan your agenda.
  • Drop by the Healthcare and Life Sciences Pavilion at the re:Invent Expo Hall (Venetian Hall B) to network with your peers, meet AWS technical and industry experts, see demos of our latest launches, and collect your limited edition Health pin designed by a patient at Children’s Brain Tumor Network.

If you’re new to re:Invent, you can attend sessions of the following types:

  • Keynotes – Join in-person or virtual, and learn about all the exciting announcements.
  • Breakout sessions – These 60-minute sessions are expected to have broad appeal, are delivered to larger audiences, and will be recorded. If you miss them, you can watch them on-demand after re:Invent.
  • Chalk Talks – 60-minutes of content delivered to smaller audiences with an interactive whiteboarding session.
  • Workshops – Hands-on learning opportunities where, in the course of 2 hours, you’ll be able to build a solution for a problem, understand the inner workings of the resulting infrastructure, and cross-service interaction. Bring your laptop and be ready to learn!
  • Builders’ sessions – These highly interactive 60-minute mini-workshops are conducted in small groups of less than 10 attendees. Some of these appeal to beginners, and others are on specialized topics.
