Announcing the IMAGINE: The New World of Education Webinar Series
As students of all ages pursue hybrid or fully remote learning this fall, education institutions are experiencing uncertainty around enrollment projections, revenue, content delivery and efficacy, IT capacity, security, and more.
Primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities are facing and will continue to face different levels of disruption and timelines for returning to normal operations. Even this week, higher education institutions in the United States that planned to hold in-person classes this fall shifted to a fully remote teaching and learning experience. In many ways, we all have a student-mindset as we approach the “back-to-school” season—trying to engage with the questions that the COVID-19 crisis has posed with the dedication, curiosity, and creativity our learners so often display.
To continue to offer access to the critical learning, research, and medical services that education institutions provide, they are looking to technology—including cloud computing—to help them continue to drive their mission forward. These decision-makers, including university presidents, chief information officers, and district or ministry leaders, must strike a balance between the short- and long-term: leveraging technology to meet the immediate needs of their staff and students while creating plans to scale their response should the need for fully remote education arise again.
That is why we are happy to share that Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hosting the first IMAGINE: The New World of Education Webinar Series. In these webinars, we will feature conversations that provide best practices, guidance, and advice as millions of students and educators worldwide continue to adjust to remote teaching, learning, and working. You’ll hear from education industry leaders as well as subject matter experts on how the cloud has helped bridge the divide between campus or the classroom and remote learning and instruction.
The first IMAGINE webinar, A New Reality for Education: Lifelong Learning in Uncertain Times, features Marykay Wells, chief information officer of Pearson, the world’s largest learning company. She will share how her organization transformed to meet the needs of lifelong learners both during the current period of uncertainty and beyond. Register for the first webinar or sign up to receive updates about the ongoing series by visiting the IMAGINE: The New World of Education online hub. New webinars will be added each month. Upcoming sessions will focus on technology-driven learning and building resilient institutions in higher education.
As the series continues throughout the coming months, universities, research institutions, primary and secondary schools, and education technology companies will join us to discuss how to enable learning continuity and student success, how to deliver access to virtual learning and working solutions, and how to build resilient education institutions that are able to respond quickly to changes and challenges.
