Visit the AWS Federal Pop-Up Loft through September 18

In its first week, more than 400 attendees came through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Federal Pop-Up Loft in Arlington, Virginia to attend training sessions, utilize co-working space, ask questions at the expert bar, and more. The loft, a community space for federal employees and partners, is open through September 18.

“The level of customer engagement and participation at our AWS Federal Pop-Up Loft demonstrates the excitement around cloud technologies. Federal customers are working with both AWS and our partners to experiment with advanced services like machine learning in the cloud and to drive digital transformation,” said Dave Levy, AWS VP, US Government. “The loft is a place for anyone curious about cloud to learn, ask questions, and experiment with ways that you can benefit from cloud.”

Register for technical sessions with spaces still available, including:

  • Outposts, Snowball Edge & AWS Elemental (Sept. 12, 9am-12pm): Join us for a discussion on AWS Snowball Edge and AWS Outposts and learn how they can aid in tactical edge deployment scenarios. We’ll also examine specific use cases in motion imagery, and how hybrid cloud combined with AWS Media Services are enabling a next-generation FMV (full motion video) experience for defense and intelligence workflows.
  • Introduction to AWS Ground Station (Sept. 12, 1pm-4:30pm): AWS Ground Station is a fully managed service that lets you control satellite communications, downlink and process satellite data, and scale your satellite operations quickly, easily, and cost-effectively without having to worry about building or managing your own AWS Ground Station infrastructure. In this session, we introduce AWS Ground Station and how it works, starting from understanding the AWS Ground Station console and on-boarding process. We demonstrate how to schedule a contact, gather data, and build architectures to extract data from AWS Ground Station for analysis and storage with other AWS services.
  • Operationalizing Microsoft Workloads (Sept. 17, 1pm-4pm): In this session, learn best practices and approaches for managing your Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure on AWS. Discover the AWS services that can help you manage Windows servers at scale and realize the maximum benefit of the cloud. Join us to learn how to build simple and effective solutions to manage logging, configuration drift, inventory, licensing, and more.

Session full? You’re still welcome to stop by any day from 8:30am-4:30pm to ask one of our experts a question, co-work, or network with peers and colleagues. The AWS Federal Pop-Up Loft is open through September 18, located a few miles from the Pentagon at the Convene meeting space at 1201 Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn, Arlington, Virginia. The co-working space is designed for you to settle in and immerse yourself in your projects, while also giving you the opportunity to discuss mission advancement in the cloud.
