re:Invent 2019 is less than a month away! And now that you know what technical sessions, chalk talks, and breakouts you’re attending, schedule in some fun.
Although re:Invent is a big conference, the strength of the public sector community makes it a more intimate experience. Make time to meet colleagues, peers, and leaders in the public sector to network and share stories.

The Nonprofit Hackathon for Good provides a hands-on and team-oriented experience, while supporting nonprofit organizations. Your team will use AWS products and services to build solutions to pressing real-world challenges. This is a great way for you to gain AWS experience in a hackathon environment, where developers apply their skills during an all-day coding event for social good and win fun prizes. It is open to all skill levels. Be sure to reserve your seat in the hackathon and attend our mixer to build your team. The hackathon benefits Best Friends Animal Society, SpaceNet, Urban Institute, and Vibrant.

Network with your public sector peers, colleagues, and leaders at the AWS Worldwide Public Sector Reception. When you’re there, don’t miss the GameChanger Charity Experience onsite, where professional gamers Rooster Teeth, UCI Esports Team, and Captain Sparklez will be battling attendees in games of Mario Kart. While you wait for your matchup, talk to the founders of GameChanger, a small nonprofit that runs on AWS. GameChanger’s mission is to find a cure for pediatric cancer and help ease the pain and suffering of patients in hospitals all over the world using the power of virtual reality and gaming. Learn more about GameChanger, watch their case study, or listen to them on the AWS Public Sector podcast. And make sure to tune into their live stream on Twitch.tv on Giving Tuesday to help raise money for their mission.
