Overview

Postud.io is a cloud-native post-production platform transforming the media and entertainment industry by eliminating traditional hardware dependencies. The company sought to provide production houses and content creators with an agile, scalable, and AI-enhanced workflow that supports remote collaboration. By migrating its platform to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Postud.io streamlined post-production workflows and reduced costs, empowering post-production teams to dynamically scale resources, collaborate remotely, and achieve a 30 percent faster project turnaround.

About Postud.io

Postud.io is a media technology company that provides cloud-based post-production solutions for large media enterprises, production houses, and content creators. Its platform aims to bring digital empowerment to the global post-production industry, offering scalable, AI-driven workflows to streamline editing, rendering, and distribution.

Opportunity | Reimagining Post-Production with Cloud-First Innovation

Postud.io, a media technology company specializing in post-production solutions, recognized the limitations of traditional on-premises infrastructure. Maintaining physical production spaces and investing in high-cost hardware made scaling difficult, while outdated equipment hindered efficiency. Post-production teams often had to choose between repeated costly upgrades or working with obsolete technology, slowing down workflows and reducing productivity. To overcome these constraints, Postud.io set out to build a fully cloud-native platform that eliminated hardware dependencies and streamlined operations.

Across the industry, post-production teams faced similar challenges. Studios and production houses remained reliant on expensive, high-maintenance on-premises infrastructure, even as content distribution moved to the cloud. Physical production spaces in high-cost cities like Mumbai, London, and Los Angeles further strained budgets, while legacy workflows made it difficult to scale resources dynamically or enable remote collaboration. These inefficiencies led to delays, rising operational costs, and lost opportunities.

Harish Prabhu, cofounder and chief product and technology officer at Postud.io, says, “The post-production industry was ready for change. Traditional workflows were costly and inflexible, and increasing project demands highlighted the need for a scalable, cloud-based solution.”

Solution | Transitioning Post-Production Workflows to a Fully Cloud-Native Platform

Postud.io migrated its post-production workflows to AWS, replacing its on-premises infrastructure with a scalable, cloud-based editing platform. This transformation enabled real-time collaboration, and improved resource allocation and operational flexibility. By adopting a pay-as-you-go model through AWS, the company eliminated hardware constraints and built a cost-efficient, high-performance post-production environment.

To support real-time video editing without expensive physical workstations, Postud.io uses Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) G4dn instances and G5 instances to deliver GPU-accelerated computing.  For secure and fast access to large media files, including raw footage, final exports, and metadata, it relies on Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).

To reduce manual workload, Postud.io automates key workflows such as transcoding, asset management, and metadata tagging using AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions. This automation frees teams to focus on creative work instead of repetitive tasks. Additionally, Amazon SageMaker enables AI-driven dubbing, transcription, and metadata management, enhancing content accessibility and localization.

Postud.io's transition to AWS was supported by customer-centric AWS commercial programs, which provided credits and discounts to facilitate migration and infrastructure setup.

Outcome | Empowering Post-Production Teams with Creativity and Collaboration

With Postud.io’s cloud-based platform, post-production teams can dynamically scale resources, ensuring efficient allocation across editing, rendering, and distribution. By eliminating costly on-premises infrastructure, teams have reported a 20–40 percent reduction in operating costs, helping them to reinvest in creative projects and streamline workflows.

Seamless remote collaboration now empowers globally distributed editing and production teams to work in real time, leading to a 30 percent reduction in turnaround time for post-production projects. AI-driven automation further boosts efficiency, with teams expecting to reduce manual effort by more than 50 percent. Features like voice cloning, automated dubbing, and auto-captioning help teams accelerate content production while maintaining high-quality standards.

Prabhu adds, “Our cloud-based platform, built on AWS, has changed how post-production teams operate. They no longer have to worry about infrastructure limitations and can scale on demand.”

With AWS as its foundation, Postud.io provides 99.9 percent uptime, ensuring uninterrupted editing, rendering, and production workflows. Looking ahead, the company aims to redefine cloud-based post-production by advancing scalability and cost efficiency. As a next step, Postud.io plans to expand into the U.S. market and further invest in AI-driven innovations to enhance its platform.
