Worldbox Builds AI-Enabled Sales Distribution Channel on AWS Marketplace with AllCloud
Learn how Worldbox increased its global reach with an agentic AI-enabled distribution model on AWS Marketplace.
Benefits
Overview
Swiss business intelligence company Worldbox owns a high-value database that contains details of over 400 million businesses worldwide. The data enables financial institutions, credit insurers, and other organizations to conduct risk assessments, run due diligence reports, and undertake financial analyses. Historically, Worldbox delivered its data to customers using APIs, but it wanted to explore the potential for using AI as a data delivery model. Worldbox partnered with AllCloud to design and build a secure, two-tiered data distribution model on AWS Marketplace, enabling customers to search, discover, and purchase data using agentic AI tools. Using the solution, Worldbox is able to deliver up to 70 percent faster time to value to its customers and improve product discoverability by 5 to 10 times.
About Worldbox
Worldbox is an independent service that provides credit risk reports on over 400 million companies worldwide, covering ownership, management, legal status, financials, and more.
Opportunity | Asserting Verified Datasets Value as AI Disruption Grows
Worldbox historically sold access to its verified data using APIs and subscription agreements, along with wholesale distribution channels. Its business had grown through word-of-mouth recommendations from one client to another. After a customer sent a data product request, Worldbox checked its availability and sent back a confirmation. After a subscription contract was signed, Worldbox shared API access credentials that enabled the customer to search, access, and consume data. The process took days to complete.
The company was facing some key challenges. First, it wanted to increase its market share by reaching business segments beyond its traditional market. Second, generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini were gaining momentum at the business-user level by simplifying access to company data through free deep research functionality. This indicated how the latest AI developments posed a threat to its traditional business model.
The company wanted to develop a new operating model for selling verified data that would enable the business to generate new business and secure its market position. A key goal of the new solution would be to protect the value of Worldbox’s valuable dataset. That meant that any agentic AI integration would need secure access to its data. Security is paramount in Worldbox’s business and a key requirement from its customers. For this reason, the company also wanted to achieve SOC 2 certification to provide assurance about security, processing integrity, and confidentiality.

Solution | Developing a Secure Platform to Enable Agentic AI-Powered Consumption
In March 2025, Worldbox partnered with AllCloud to rethink how it distributed its data. Serving as a core business advisor, AllCloud led workshops to help Worldbox define its product development strategy and explore the potential of deploying its new sales channel on AWS Marketplace.
The key technological innovation was the decision to adapt Worldbox’s existing API interface to agentic AI workflows to consume data through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. The MCP server effectively acted as a secure bridge between AI agents looking for data and Worldbox’s API-based data platform.
AI agents operate within enterprise business processes and workflows, performing tasks such as intelligent pre-search for companies, reviewing available company data, and retrieving information such as credit risk details and vendor compliance. Worldbox introduced a two-tier model that included a freemium discovery layer and a paid access tier. This enabled customers to check and verify the availability, structure, and extent of the data before they decided to purchase it through microtransactions.
The platform incorporates two security layers that protect both Worldbox’s dataset and customers' data consumption processes. To enable authentication, AI agents need a valid Worldbox API Key, which links the search activity to a subscribed Worldbox account. Next, to prevent runaway processing and DDoS attacks, the team introduced explicit limits on usage for both the free and paid tiers.
The project team chose AWS Lambda to run the MCP server and enable interaction between the dataset and the agents. Amazon API Gateway provides a secure entry point with AWS Marketplace and Amazon Cognito manages user identity and authentication. Amazon DynamoDB is used to store live and historical data about customers, sessions, and tenants from sessions.
Outcome | AI-Enabled Data Consumption Improves Time to Value by up to 70%
Worldbox launched its consumption-based, AI-enabled distribution channel on AWS Marketplace in August 2025, enabling a wide range of prospects to discover, explore, and purchase its data products. The company estimates that surfacing its product on AWS Marketplace has improved product discoverability by 5 to 10 times.
Automated onboarding and API key provisioning through AWS Marketplace enables Worldbox customers to access data much faster than previously, reducing integration time by 80–90 percent and accelerating time to value by up to 70 percent. This approach replaces the previous web form request process and reduces lead times. The automation of customer onboarding has also delivered productivity gains of 50–70 percent for the Worldbox service team.
The MCP server model and supporting authentication protocols ensure that the dataset access is secure and protected. Worldbox is progressing toward SOC 2 certification to demonstrate the security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy of its platform.
The agentic AI-powered sales model has established a scalable channel that has the potential to enable significant new growth. As part of its ongoing collaboration with AllCloud, Worldbox is exploring the potential of end-to-end autonomous intelligence using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore targeting specific line-of-business needs.
