MariaDB is an open-source MySQL compatible database and this Kurian AMI has the latest stable release of MariaDB installed for the targeted Linux platform. The Linux operating system is updated with latest patches and the installation is secured by running mysql_secure_installation. The EC2 instance spun up from this AMI and is ready to be used with minimum or no additional configuration.
