Build, migrate, and operate with control in AWS Startup Advisor
by Khushboo Shah | 13 October 2026
What’s new in AWS Startup Advisor?
AWS Startup Advisor is an AI-powered build assistant available on the web, as an IDE extension for Kiro, VS Code, and Cursor, and as a Claude Code plugin. It meets startups in the tools where they build, delivering personalized guidance to help them develop, migrate, and operate on AWS with confidence.
Since launching in June 2026, AWS Startup Advisor has supported the full idea-to-launch lifecycle for startups. From helping startups set up their AWS environments and scaffold infrastructure to migrating production-grade AI agents and identifying cost-saving opportunities, startups receive tailored guidance for their stage and stack.
As of October 2026, we’re adding five new capabilities to AWS Startup Advisor:
- Migrate applications built with Lovable, Bolt.new, and Replit into a startup’s own AWS account.
- Plan Azure-to-AWS migrations, including service mappings, estimated AWS costs, infrastructure code, and a phased migration plan.
- Prepare an AWS Activate Credits application directly through AWS Startup Advisor.
- View AWS costs and credits from an IDE, including spending trends and projected credit exhaustion.
- Discover discounts on the tools and services startups already use, like development and data tools, or security and business operations services.
These capabilities let you stay in AWS Startup Advisor as your startup evolves, whether you built elsewhere first and want to migrate, need to understand costs as you scale, or want to apply for credits and discover deals.
More ways to move to AWS
AWS Startup Advisor gives you a clear path to migration on AWS. You can generate a migration plan, see how your services map to AWS, and review cost estimates upfront, so you can move forward with confidence.
Launched with GCP infrastructure and AI/LLM workloads, then quickly expanded to Heroku, AWS Startup Advisor now covers vibe-coded applications and Azure-to-AWS migrations.
Bring vibe-coded applications to your AWS account
Vibe coding is the fastest way to turn an idea into a working application. As your requirements evolve, you may want more architectural flexibility, direct control over resources and costs, support for compliance needs, independent scaling, or closer integration with workloads you already operate on AWS.
When you're ready to run that application on AWS, AWS Startup Advisor guides the migration into your AWS account, giving you more architectural flexibility, cost control, and room to scale.
You select the source platform and connect a GitHub repository or upload a zip file. AWS Startup Advisor analyzes the codebase, generates a migration plan, produces a live preview, and prepares deployment into your AWS account. Today, we support migration of apps built with Lovable, Bolt.new, and Replit.
How do I migrate a vibe-coded application to AWS?
The guided migration process has five steps:
- Connect the repository. Connect through GitHub or upload the application as a zip file.
- Analyze the code. A planning agent identifies the architecture, dependencies, and platform-specific patterns.
- Review the plan. Review the proposed AWS services, architecture diagram, and estimated monthly cost. Nothing is created until the plan is approved.
- Preview it live. An execution agent generates AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) code in a new branch and produces a working preview, available for 24 hours.
- Deploy into your account. Use a handoff prompt in your preferred IDE or command-line interface (CLI) to deploy with a continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for future changes.
Infrastructure lands in your account as code, giving you direct control over security posture, data residency, and deployment. The entire process, from analyzing your codebase to generating a production-ready preview, happens in minutes, not weeks.
Plan an Azure-to-AWS migration
The migration plan includes:
- Azure-to-AWS service mappings
- Estimated monthly AWS costs
- Production-ready Terraform
- A phased migration plan
- Coverage across compute, databases, storage, and networking
This automates work that can otherwise require manual architecture mapping, cost estimation, and Terraform generation for each migration.
For startups using the Azure OpenAI Service, the plugin also provides a migration path to Amazon Bedrock. It maps source models to Amazon Bedrock options and provides SDK refactoring guidance and prompt-compatibility considerations, helping teams evaluate model choice alongside architecture and cost.
You can review the resulting plan before taking action, with the flexibility to proceed through AI-guided deployment, work with an AWS expert, or engage an AWS Partner.
Apply for AWS Activate Credits to offset your costs
Use AWS Startup Advisor to populate your AWS Activate Credit application. It gathers relevant information about your startup, so you spend less time on the application and more time building. Activate Credits help offset the cost of the AWS services startups build and run on, giving teams more room to experiment and scale before those costs come out of the runway.
See costs and credits from your IDE
AWS Startup Advisor has always helped you keep control of AWS costs, including alerts and credit visibility. The new Cost & Credits tab brings that visibility directly into the AWS Startup Advisor IDE extension. When you’re signed in, you can see your AWS credit balance and account costs alongside the Prompts and Alerts tabs, without opening the AWS console.
The tab shows:
- Current credit balance and projected exhaustion
- Month-to-date and forecast spending
- Previous-month spending
- Average daily spending
- A four-week spending trend
- The services contributing most to cost
The exhaustion estimate uses recent spending patterns to help you understand your remaining credit runway. Data comes from AWS Billing and AWS Cost Explorer. It refreshes every six hours and can also be refreshed manually. Access is read-only, and AWS Startup Advisor does not create, modify, or delete resources.
Find the discounts and deals that fit your stage
Most of you want to stretch your runway, ship to production faster, and choose tools that you won’t have to replace in six months. The challenge is knowing which discounts and deals actually apply to where your startup is right now.
AWS Startup Advisor can now surface discounts on the tools and services startups use, across categories like development, security, data, customer engagement, financial services, and business operations:
These recommendations can help you:
- Get to production faster: Discover discounted tools and services that help you ship, so more of your budget goes toward building.
- Choose the right tools: Find partner deals matched to the stack you’re already running, instead of sorting through programs that don’t fit.
- Build on proven solutions: Discover deals on AWS and partner services that fit your architecture as you’re making technical decisions.
The best technical recommendation comes first. When a related deal is available, AWS Startup Advisor presents it as an additional option rather than replacing the recommendation, so useful discounts and deals are easy to discover without turning your development experience into an advertising surface.
Get started with AWS Startup Advisor
AWS Startup Advisor brings migration planning, cost and credit visibility, AWS Activate application preparation, and relevant discounts to where you already build, while keeping you in control of every approval, submission, and deployed resource. Available at no charge.
