Available now: The 2022 AWS IMAGINE Grant opens funding for nonprofits
Nonprofits are increasingly pursuing technology-centric approaches to accelerate the success of their mission. Some nonprofits are using cloud technology to share data and research to enhance collaboration, launch scalable beneficiary services to meet demand from clients, migrate existing IT infrastructure to increase speed and agility, and much more. But despite this growing appetite for digital transformation, funding for technology projects remains scarce in the nonprofit sector.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is committed to enabling the nonprofit sector with cloud technology tools and nonprofit-specific resources to help them innovate and expand their impact. The AWS IMAGINE Grant is designed to support nonprofits pursuing high-impact, innovative technology projects with vital financial and technical resources. Now in its fifth year, the program offers two distinct award categories for nonprofits to receive support based on their organizational goals and stage of their technology adoption journey.
The 2022 AWS IMAGINE Grant
Launching today, 2022 AWS IMAGINE Grant applications are open for nonprofits innovating in the following categories:
Momentum to Modernize
As nonprofit organizations seek to digitally transform and enhance their core mission operations with technology, organizations need funding for foundational technology projects, such as migrating servers to the cloud and modernizing new and existing applications. The Momentum to Modernize IMAGINE Grant award provides resources for these transformational infrastructure projects, along with AWS Promotional Credit and implementation guidance from AWS technical specialists. Projects may include, but are not limited to: application migration and optimization, net-new application development, data warehouse projects, infrastructure expansion, and more.

- An opportunity for AWS marketing promotion
Go Further, Faster
The Go Further, Faster award provides support for think big projects that use cloud technology to support highly innovative ways to deliver on their missions. These projects have the potential to produce scaled, repeatable solutions and may impact an entire industry or field. These projects help expand the reach and services of organizations and may include the application of or integration with advanced cloud services, like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), high performance computing (HPC), Internet of Things (IoT), and more.
Go Further, Faster awards packages may include:
- Up to $150,000 USD of unrestricted financial support
- Up to $100,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credit
- Project kickoff workshop and implementation guidance from AWS technical specialist(s)
