Create your agenda for the AWS Public Sector Summit DC

There will be 160 sessions, an Earth and Space keynote, a fireside chat with Andy Jassy, CEO of AWS, and more at this year’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Summit in Washington, DC. Your challenge is to decide what activities you don’t want to miss!

Here are a few suggestions to get on your calendar:

  1. Earth & Space Keynote: Back by popular demand, Teresa Carlson, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at AWS, will host the Earth & Space on AWS keynote on Monday, June 10, to kick off the Summit. This year’s keynote will cover how technology is accelerating innovation across Earth and space, the importance of public-private partnerships, and AWS customers’ first-hand stories of how they use cloud to further their missions. Earth & Space on AWS programming will also be featured in the two days of Summit that follow. Check the Summit session catalog and search “Earth & Space” for details.
  2. Fireside Chat with Andy Jassy: AWS CEO Andy Jassy will join Teresa Carlson for a fireside chat on Wednesday, June 12 focused on the latest trends in public sector cloud adoption and how AWS is innovating to help customers drive innovation ahead of mission.
  3. AWS Bootcamps: Bootcamps are full and half-day training sessions delivered by experienced AWS Instructors and Solutions Architects. They are an opportunity to dive deep into existing skills and learn new ways of working with AWS. These sessions are offered for a fee on June 10, the day before the Summit.
  4. Hackathon for Good: Join us on June 10 for the 2nd annual Hackathon for Good. Choose from one of four challenges from our public sector customers including nonprofit, education, government, or startups. Hackers will have just 14 hours to build a solution to the challenge and present to the judges. Judges will review solutions and prizes will be given to the top teams. Throughout the day, Solutions Architects will hold 60-minute labs to learn a new skill that can immediately be implemented in your solutions. Register here.
  5. Over 100 Learning Sessions: Attend one-hour breakout sessions led by AWS subject-matter experts and/or AWS customers. You’ll find introductory sessions, deep-dive technical content, and customer stories. From getting started with serverless architectures to learning how to become migration ready, the agenda has something for everyone. View the session catalog.

In addition to these five activities, other special features include:

  • Hands-On Workshops: Includes a special Working Backwards at Amazon course
  • AWS DeepRacer League: Build, train, and race your model against your peers!
