AWS Public Sector Blog

Ready for the Next Storm

With Hurricane Florence heading for the east coast of the United States, home to many of our U.S. federal government customers, Jeff Barr is sharing some important reminders on how AWS takes extensive precautions to help ensure AWS will remain operational and what customers can do to be ready to weather the storm. From availability zones and contingency planning to data transfer and disaster response, learn about disaster preparedness in Jeff’s blog post here.

Additionally, the AWS Disaster Response Program is a support service available to our public sector customers. With the AWS Disaster Response Program, customers can focus on mission-critical functions, while AWS provisions critical data and applications, transports hardware to the base of operations, and implements deployable infrastructure based on customer need. The team is monitoring Hurricane Florence’s path as it approaches the United States.
