EDHEC Business School is transforming their students’ learning experience through an innovative partnership with Amanote AI, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The solution delivers personalized, 24/7 academic support while maintaining high education standards. This collaboration showcases how educational institutions can harness AI to enhance learning while maintaining academic integrity and pedagogical excellence.

The journey of innovation

Amanote AI’s development began with a clear vision: to create an AI-powered learning assistant that seamlessly integrates with existing learning management systems, like Blackboard by Anthology. The solution builds upon Amanote’s established base features, adding a sophisticated AI layer powered by Amazon Bedrock. This integration enables students to engage with course materials through an intelligent chatbot that provides contextual, accurate responses to their queries.

EDHEC has found that students are embracing the tool without requiring extensive training, a testament to its user-friendly design. The development team placed a strong emphasis on accuracy and reliability, working closely with AWS to fine-tune the system and enable precise responses.

“AWS’s strong expertise in artificial intelligence was a real asset in helping us develop a reliable and accurate AI-powered solution, fully tailored to the needs of modern education.”

-Adrien Fery, founder and CEO, Amanote AI

Meeting education challenges with technology

EDHEC sought to create a balanced digital and personal learning experience while promoting responsible AI usage among their student body. With 10,000 students requiring support at various hours, the institution needed a solution that could provide reliable, around-the-clock learning assistance. The platform has proven to be valuable for all student profiles, even MBA students, who particularly appreciate its efficiency in locating relevant information and accessing source materials directly. This capability transforms passive reading into active learning, helping students deepen their understanding of complex topics.

At the heart of Amanote AI lies Amazon Bedrock, utilizing Claude Sonnet for the generation of tasks to ensure accuracy. This robust technological foundation—combined with seamless Blackboard by Anthology LMS integration—creates a powerful educational tool that maintains high standards of data privacy and academic integrity.

“Amanote is built to support pedagogy first, helping students engage more meaningfully and gain a deeper understanding of course content, while ensuring strict respect for institutional intellectual property and data privacy”.

Successful implementation and early results

The pilot program, launched in May 2025, encompassed approximately 1,000 students and demonstrated impressive early results. The success can be attributed to the platform’s seamless integration with existing systems, user-friendly interface, and the close collaboration with Amanote AI’s team.

Students engaged actively with the AI Assistant, asking thousands of questions directly from within their course materials. Students were invited to rate each response on a 1-to-5 scale, resulting in an average satisfaction score of 4/5—confirming strong perceived usefulness. Peak usage occurred during exam periods, highlighting the AI Assistant’s role as a study companion when academic demands are highest. Students primarily used the tool to clarify complex course concepts and generate practice questions and exercises, helping them strengthen understanding and prepare more efficiently for assessments.

Key insights and future direction

The implementation revealed several crucial insights that will shape future developments. Perhaps most significantly, maintaining teacher control and confidence in the system has proven essential for successful adoption. The platform’s ability to support diverse content formats and learn continuously from course materials has also emerged as a key strength.

Looking ahead, EDHEC’s vision for the platform extends beyond its current capabilities. Plans are underway to enhance personalization features and integrate additional resources, including library materials. The institution is also exploring, with Amanote AI, the implementation of agentic AI for broader information sourcing and evolving assessment methods to support more authentic evaluation approaches.

“At EDHEC, we are committed to being at the forefront of pedagogical innovation. The successful, high-satisfaction adoption of Amanote AI proves that by thoughtfully integrating powerful tools like Amazon Bedrock, we can empower students to responsibly leverage AI while maintaining rigorous academic standards and putting educational excellence first.”
