Amazon Translate is now Available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region
Amazon Translate is a neural machine translation service that delivers fast, high-quality, and affordable language translation. Neural machine translation is a form of language translation automation that uses deep learning models to deliver more accurate translation than traditional statistical and rule-based translation algorithms. This service API is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region, Amazon’s isolated cloud region built for sensitive data and regulated workloads.
With this regional expansion, Amazon Translate can help U.S. government customers and government contractors better serve citizens by removing language barriers. Amazon Translate produces accurate translation at low-latency, which makes the service well suited for use cases that require real-time, on-demand translation of user-generated content, such as live chat for citizens with limited English proficiency. Also, Amazon Translate can be used to translate existing texts in a variety of languages for easier analysis. For example, public sector organizations can use the service to aggregate feedback provided by citizens who are more comfortable communicating in their native language.
Today, Amazon Translate supports text to or from English to Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
