Since the AWS SaaS Factory started in 2017, we have provided organizations building software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions with guidance through direct engagements, webinars, bootcamps, conferences, and events. Based on what we’ve learned from AWS Partners throughout these engagements, we are excited to announce the launch of AWS SaaS Factory Insights Hub, a central directory that makes resources and best practices available to organizations seeking extensive SaaS knowledge.

Amazon RDS customers are looking for AWS Partners with specific database engine expertise to set up, operate, and scale relational databases in the cloud. To meet this need, we are relaunching the Amazon RDS Service Delivery Program, which now validates AWS Partners by database engine type. This allows customers to identify an Amazon RDS Partner that best meets their database engine-specific migration and implementation needs.

At AWS, we are committed to supporting the global energy industry in safely meeting the energy demands the world needs today, while accelerating their transition to a more balanced and sustainable energy future. The AWS Energy Competency will formally launch in 2021 and introduce AWS Partners who have achieved this high-bar designation. Through the AWS Energy Competency, customers will have access to highly specialized AWS Partners for assistance in accelerating their digital transformation.

Recognizing the complexity of a mainframe migration, AWS customers seek proven methodologies, tools, and best practices to empower successful migrations. The APN plays a critical role in these efforts by providing proven technology products and services for customers’ mainframe migrations. We are excited to pre-announce the launch of the AWS Mainframe Modernization Competency which gives customers confidence in choosing right right AWS Partners to team up with.

The SaaS delivery model has become increasingly appealing to a wide range of companies. For many, the move to SaaS represents a significant transformational event that requires companies to examine all the moving parts of their business. Based upon our experience with thousands of AWS Partners across the world, we have created a new SaaS Journey Framework whitepaper that introduces a prescriptive framework to guide you through a SaaS journey on AWS.

The AWS Partner Transformation Program (PTP) helps partners expedite cloud readiness in key business areas so they can help customers migrate to the AWS Cloud. The result is partner transformation, building an innovative cloud business for partners to better serve the ultimate customer. The PTP is now open to commercial sector partners that are either new to cloud and need help with planning for cloud migration, or have started the process but need help in accelerating their journey.

AWS Shield Advanced provides 24×7 access to the AWS DDoS Response Team (DRT) for real-time response to impacting events. For customers that lack the resources to maintain this optimal application security posture, AWS has launched a new Perimeter Protection Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) program that enables AWS Partners to develop and deliver a fully managed Security Operations Center (SOC) for AWS Shield Advanced, AWS WAF, and AWS Firewall Manager.

The new AWS Digital Workplace Competency helps customers reduce security risks and meet compliance requirements, while freeing end users from the office and enabling them to work securely on any device, from anywhere, at any time. The AWS Digital Workplace Competency takes on the heavy lifting of identifying and validating industry leaders with proven customer success and technical proficiency in endpoint management, application management, and collaboration platforms.

As customers adopt AWS Outposts, they need the right solutions to help deploy, monitor, secure, and integrate their Outposts-based workloads. The new AWS Outposts Ready Program makes it easy for customers to find integrated storage, networking, security, and industry-specific solutions that have been validated by AWS and tested on Outposts. This enables customers to easily identify solutions that will integrate with their Outposts deployments.

Bottlerocket is an open source Linux-based OS purpose-built for hosting containers, and APN Partners and AWS customers can quickly get up and running with Bottlerocket. Our goal is to continue to enhance the capabilities of our APN Partners by working together to incorporate it within their offerings and services, so that our mutual customers benefit from the reduced footprint, improved security, performance, and automation capabilities of the OS.
