Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday December 7	We announced Instance Protection for Auto Scaling. We announced Encryption at Rest for Amazon Aurora. I published AWS Podcasts with Convox, FundersClub, Pachyderm, and Runscope. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog announced the AWS SDK for .NET Refresh for ASP.NET 5. Botmetric shared 6 Important Laws of Architecture for AWS Cloud. Cloud Enlightened talked about Continuous Integration to Manage Shared Resources Across Accounts Automatically. The Serverless Code Blog invited you to Spend a Buck and Learn [AWS], discussed Customizing CloudFormation Resources, showed you how to Deploy Lambda Functions with CloudFormation, invited you to Save Money, Live Better with Reserved Instances, and discussed Backing up RDS Instances. Cloudability invited you to Take Stock of Your AWS Reserved Instances with our New Reservation Portfolio. Cloud Zone talked about How Meteor Built Galaxy on Amazon ECS. High Scalability wrote about The Serverless Startup – Down With Servers. Alooma showed you how to Export Application Insights to Amazon Redshift with Alooma.
Tuesday December 8	We announced that the AWS Service Catalog is Now Available in the Asia Pacific (Tokyo) Region. We announced that Amazon CloudWatch Logs can Batch Export to S3. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog showed you how to Install Scheduled Talks on EC2 Windows Using EC2 Run. The AWS Startup Collection made The Case for Deployment Pipelines. Matthew D. Fuller discussed Occasionally Reliable Caching for AWS Lambda. The Serverless Code Blog announced that JAWS is Now Serverless. 2nd Watch shared some 2016 Enterprise Cloud Predictions. Cloud Academy reviewed AWS Security: Identity and Access Management (IAM). ParkMyCloud wondered How Do I Stop Wasting Money on Reserved Instances? Cloudcraft released a new tool to help you to Draw AWS Diagrams.
Wednesday December 9	I blogged about New Route 53 Traffic Flow (released earlier in the month). The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog discussed DynamoDB Document Model Manual Pagination. We launched the New AWS Price List API. We launched New VM Import Options for EC2. We announced Five New Locations for AWS Direct Connect. We announced an AWS Directory Services Update – Support for Managed Microsoft Active Directory. We announced that AWS Code Deploy is Now Available in the Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region. We announced that Elastic Load Balancing Now Supports Automatic Re-Registration of EC2 Instances When Stopped and Restarted. We updated the AWS SDK for Java, AWS Mobile SDK, AWS CLI, AWS SDK for Go, AWS SDK for Ruby, and the AWS SDK for JavaScript. The AWS Security Blog showed you How to Remove Unnecessary Permissions in Your IAM Policies by Using Service Last Accessed Data. The Netflix Tech Blog discussed High Quality Video Encoding at Scale. Cloudonaut talked about Serverless Image Resizing at Any Scale. Talkin’ Cloud shared 7 Cloud Trends to Watch in 2016. Varun Kumar talked about how he built a Hack for Tracking Baby Data Using Raspberry Pi and AWS IoT.
Thursday December 10	We announced Tag-Based Permissions, Default Access Privileges, and BZIP2 Compression Format Support for Amazon Redshift. We Welcomed the Newest AWS Community Heroes. We announced that Amazon Machine Learning is Now Integrated with AWS CloudTrail. We announced that AWS Confiig Now Supports IAM Resource Types. The AWS Big Data Blog shared Top 10 Performance Tuning Techniques for Amazon Redshift. The AWS Security Blog showed you How to Govern Your Application Deployments by Using Amazon EC2 Container Service and Docker. The AWS Startup Collection shared Part 1 of a series on What Startups Should Know About Amazon VPC. The Segment Blog introduced Warehouses: Web and Mobile Data to SQL in Minutes. Cloud Academy discussed Firewalld: Improving Security for your EC2 Server. Cloudability announced the Reserved Instance Czar’s Cloud Cost Battle Station. Cloud Zone shared some Cloud Encryption Strategies in AWS. Gov.UK talked about How Automation and Testing Reduce Risk in Moving Cloud Vendors.
Friday December 11	We announced that Amazon RDS Now Supports MySQL 5.5 on M4, R3, and T2 Instances. We Kanban shared a Serverless Auto Scaling Dashboard. Cloud Academy discussed AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) and Application Security. Cloud Technology Partners listed 7 Cloud Software Development Projects that Consistently Get Funded. ParkMyCloud discussed Savings vs. Risk for AWS Instance Cost Reduction Options. Dome9 showed you How to Build a PCI-DSS Compliant Environment With AWS. Cloud Machine Manager explained How Amazon EC2 Pricing Works.
Saturday December 12	The Unicorn Farm interviewed Adrian Cockroft of Battery Ventures. Cloud Machine Manager published a guide to Amazon EC2 Jargon.
