Embracing diversity and generative AI to transform Latin America: Insights from AWS executive Andrés Tahta

Latin America (LATAM) has tremendous opportunity to fulfill its highest potential through empowering its citizens with the latest technologies, including generative artificial intelligence (AI), to make the most impact for its communities to thrive. I’m curious, like many of you, about the opportunities technology provides in LATAM.

Andrés Tahta, managing director for LATAM public sector industry sales at Amazon Web Services (AWS), is an inspirational trailblazer who has devoted his career to uniquely solving tough problems with the power of technology. Andrés embraces the diversity among his teams to deliver the most positive impact for LATAM. If anyone knows how to leverage technologies like generative AI and utilize the strengths of one’s team to help advance the LATAM community, it’s Andrés.

I’m Sarah Storelli, senior global marketing leader for Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) at AWS, and I’m on a quest to discover the people behind innovations across industries. In the vodcast series AWS Behind the Cloud, I connect with pioneers serving the public sector globally to learn more about how their stories shape and define the way they build and support cutting-edge technologies that help make the world a better place.

In the sixth episode of AWS Behind the Cloud, I sat down with Andrés to uncover:

  • How his culture has shaped him personally and professionally
  • How his travel to 80-plus countries since he was 18 has helped make him a better leader
  • The importance of having diverse people and skillsets on your team
  • What his favorite Amazon Leadership Principle is and why (and who inspires him!)
  • What he wants to be known for to future generations
  • Generative AI opportunities for LATAM

Curious to learn more about Andrés’ journey and hear his insights about how generative AI is driving new levels of productivity and insights, and transforming offerings to foster continued innovation in LATAM, especially within the judicial system?
