The AWS Training and Certification team is hosting a new beta for our AWS Certified Security – Specialty exam. This exam will only be available January 15 – March 2, 2018. It validates knowledge of effectively securing the AWS platform and covers incident response, logging and monitoring, infrastructure security, identity and access management, and data protection. We are offering the beta exam at only $150 USD—a 50% discount—until March 2.

ClearScale Implements Large AWS Data Lake to Help C4ADS with Data Analysis

The Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington D.C. that provides data-driven analysis and evidence-based reporting on global conflict and transnational security issues. Because their analysts must comb through extensive records from different sources, it became increasingly difficult to make use of all the data. ClearScale, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, implemented a large data lake on AWS to make the data more user-friendly for C4ADS analysts.

KQED Reduces Atlassian Run Cost by 65% After Migrating to AWS

To reduce expenses and accelerate time to market, KQED looked to APN Partners Atlassian and iTMethods to migrate its services to the AWS Cloud. KQED’s television, radio, digital media, and educational services serve the people of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. It enabled software development though the use of Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo on-premises, but KQED lacked in-house expertise to manage Atlassian solutions in the cloud.

New Intro Course for Healthcare and Life Sciences Compliance on AWS

We are excited to announce a new eLearning course for healthcare and life sciences (HCLS) compliance in the cloud. Developed in cooperation with Intel, this self-paced digital training consists of four modules that introduce the fundamentals of cloud computing under HCLS compliance regimes such as HIPAA, GxP, and international data privacy requirements. Each module takes roughly 20 minutes to complete and are available to APN Partners and AWS customers.

Securing Workloads on VMware Cloud on AWS Using Native AWS Services

With the recent launch of VMware Cloud on AWS, you can now run workloads on VMware-managed SDDC clusters installed on special bare metal hardware provided by Amazon Amazon EC2 services. This post describes a solution for securing workloads on VMware Cloud on AWS that we demonstrated at VMworld 2017. VMware workloads that run in the SDDC cluster can leverage different levels of AWS network and application protection capabilities with minimum to no changes to their application settings.
