More Reasons for Customers to Migrate Their Microsoft Workloads to AWS

By Sandy Carter, VP, AWS Windows & Enterprise Workloads

AWS Competency_thumbnailI speak to a lot of customers every week. They often ask me, “Why should I run my Windows workloads on AWS?”

I love to quote our CEO, Andy Jassy, who says, “There is no compression algorithm for experience.” Customers have been running Windows workloads on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for over a decade. From that experience, we are able to optimize our platform and innovate on behalf of customers.

AWS runs nearly twice as many Windows Server instances than the next largest cloud provider, according to an IDC report. Our experience running Windows applications has earned our customers’ trust, and the number of AWS enterprise customers using Amazon EC2 for Windows Server has grown 5X since 2015.

Teaming Up with an AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency Partner

From the very beginning of AWS, we always believed that our partners would be strategic to our business and to our customers.

The AWS Partner Network (APN) provides additional value to customers choosing AWS for Windows workloads. We have more than 14,000 active Windows Server and SQL Server partners, and I love our partners because of the value they bring to customers around the world.

The APN has a long-standing AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency track with top APN Partners who provide consulting services to customers. Now, we are pleased to announce a new AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency track for APN Technology Partners.

The new AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency track identifies, validates, and highlights best-in-class independent software vendors (ISVs) that have demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in helping customers migrate and enhance Microsoft Workloads on AWS.

We don’t let just any organization become an AWS Competency Partner, either. To receive the AWS Competency designation, organizations must undergo a rigorous technical validation by AWS Solutions Architects related to industry-specific technology.

This validation gives customers complete confidence in choosing APN Partners to team up with and reduces customers’ time and effort in finding a capable and trusted APN Partner for their Microsoft Workloads environment on AWS. We do this to ensure that our partners have the level of skills that AWS customers expect.
