The primary objective of the collaboration is to eliminate the documentation burden, a major contributor to clinician burnout. This is achieved by leveraging Amazon Transcribe Medical and Amazon Bedrock to power a future Voice Notes feature, which will enable hands-free documentation.
The expected outcome is significant with early pilot results indicating:
- A projected 65-70% reduction in clinical documentation time
- A directly restored clinical focus to patient care while providing high-fidelity
- Comprehensive clinical notes
In operations, the strategy is to inject predictive and automated intelligence into core business functions. Utilizing Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, autonomous generative AI agents will be deployed to manage complex, administrative workflows.
These intelligent agents will deliver proactive capabilities, including:
- Predicting patient no-shows
- Automating claims validation
- A streamlined, accelerated revenue cycle
Finally, the goal is to elevate the standard of care by empowering clinicians with real-time, evidence-based data. The solution is being engineered to safely and securely analyze patient data at scale, resulting in synthesized evidence-based recommendations. It will support accurate diagnosis and optimize treatment planning, facilitating consistent, high-quality clinical outcomes across the network.
Security and compliance-first architecture
Deployment of this next-generation solution will be governed by a security and compliance-first architecture—a mandate for handling protected health information (PHI) at scale. Voice Notes is being built on an AWS HIPAA-compliant foundation and integrates specialized generative AI security tools. The core system leverages Amazon Nova Pro foundation models using Amazon Bedrock, specifically built with enterprise security features and HIPAA compliance standards.
Importantly, with AWS generative AI services, customer prompts and completions are never used to train any models, confirming complete data privacy. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore will provide the agentic platform required for secure, complex workflow management. Furthermore, data integrity will be maintained with all data being encrypted in transit and at rest using AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS). Amazon Bedrock Guardrails will filter sensitive information while AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls facilitate authorized access only. Voice Notes will integrate with Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for comprehensive logging, required for auditing and compliance verification.

- Event-driven design: Enables asynchronous processing, allowing the solution to handle high volumes of concurrent requests without performance degradation.
- Microservices architecture: Facilitates loose coupling between components, enabling independent deployment and scaling of individual services.
- Security by design: HIPAA compliance requirements are addressed through encryption, access controls, and audit logging built into every layer of the architecture.
- Cost optimization: Leverages pay-as-you-go pricing models to verify costs scale linearly with usage, while eliminating infrastructure overhead.
